It doesn't project out of the headlight, it just lights up the same colour as the HID Also never had an issue with police or MOT so not sure what you mean by illegal plus bikes are sold new with HID's aren't they?
Hi - sorry, but I still do not understand how you can have a headlight that lights up the dark road at night just as well as a standard high beam, but just does not blind oncoming traffic. Never mind, my IQ is probably just too low . As far as HID lamps and motorcycles are concerned, HID lights are legal - provided that an automatic self levelling system and a washer is installed (the same applies to cars). I have not heard of any motorcycles that come stock with HID lights, but if they do, they must include an automatic self levelling system and a washer to be type approved. More and more bikes come with LED lighting, but that has nothing to do with HID...may, with all due respect, you are confusing the two?
Ah okay, now I think I understand....you don´t have a real HID system with high-voltage ballasts and stuff installed....you have an HID-like bulb fitted, which to some degree looks the same as a true HID lamp. Nothing wrong or illegal with that - I apologise.
Has anyone else done this or a similar conversion? It would be great not to get the bulbs out on your headlight comments.
Sorry my use of English was crap. I meant people commenting that my headlight is broken, because only one is on.
Hi could you send me an idiots guide to doing this as I'm just about to buy the module to do this Thanks
Hi - I think the German guy just took the trouble to write the wiring and programming instructions in English: http://www.jn-elektronik.de/wp-cont...rogramming-and-wiring-of-Doppellicht-V3.0.pdf If you give me your email address, I can email you a series of photos from the installation I did on my Fireblade.
Hi Scandi999 Could you also send me the idiots guide to this. Thanks in advance Stu [email protected]
I've got this module to pick up tomorrow from the post office. I spoke to Jens who sells them and he would be able to do a group buy on this if there were 10 others interested!
Group buy is interesting but I have to admit to being a wee bit scared of playing with my electrics. mechanicals no prob, but wiring is witchcraft...How hard scale 1 to 10 is this mod.
1 out of 10 its so easy. No need to play with your electrics do what I did and some others get some H7 adaptors and wire into them then unplug existing loom from bulb, plug one end to bulb and the other end to existing loom job done! Not cutting into any existing circuit. Check picture with female and male H7 ends.......................Do all the soldering off bike or crimp entirely up to you!
good on yer womble, pix of it working and your 1st impressions. tidy wire work btw, I'm off to practice soldering lol
Looks like the mod I'm wanting and very interested in doing it the Womblewizard way..... would the connectors used be the same for a 2013 blade? Great info. guys...... I agree with the earlier post of wireing being witchcraft but I'm keen to give this a go
