I fitted mine this weekend almost the same as Womblewizards but I ran the earth to the battery and drilled my light caps to keep everything in place, I think the red wire went over to the dipped section too.
Welcome to the dual headlight gang! Changed the the red and black cables so could be hidden easier and cable tied within the loom to either headlight. I also drilled caps fitted grommets with sleeves for that professional finish...... Works a treat!
I think mine was delivered within a week! He emailed invoice and tracking number the following day.....
Zanshin, or any forum member interested in a step by a step guide with photos, I wrote one out for Clarkey on here to help him out. Sent to a few members now but if anyone wants a copy PM me with your email and I will forward on. (PDF format) did try to post it here but to large a file........
is your guide complete with part 2 now matey? if you can email me either the part 2 or the whole guide I bet i can make the pdf smaller for online posting.
Thanks to Womble for the time and effort making this guide. hopefully this should give you a link to a nice pdf. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1b578byw9okwzpw/wiring%20dual%20lights%20module.pdf
It took 3 days to get my module if that's any help. Simple mod that is a brilliant way to improve the looks and usefulness of the headlights
Finally getting round to doing this mod..... will let folks know how it goes..... only thing I've realised so far is my soldering skills are non existent!
Install going ok.... thanks to Womblewizard for the instructions Can't seem to get the programming working..... getting the six flashes from the LED to indicate it's in programming mode but can't get it to do anything from there. Pressing the flash once gets one flash from the LED but then holding it on makes no difference to the brightness. Pressing the flash twice still only gets one flash from the LED and no difference to the brightness when holding on. Any suggestions of where I'm going wrong?
You haven't got the main beam on have you! Once you get 6 flashes and holding flash should change !check wiring is okay
It takes a long time to cycle through the light outputs (about 2 mins of holding the flasher) I did mine with the engine running too.
HELP!!!!! Had it all fitted (and a nice neat job... which is unusual for me) then tried programming again and still had the issues mentioned above..... then I went to start the bike as suggested by Pete and the bike would not start...... just a few whirring noises and no attempt to start..... I then removed the module so all wiring back to standard and it still will not start..... Checked everything I can think of and currently have it on it's Optimate charger but can't imagine its the battery as it's almost always on the Optimate and it makes all the right noises when you turn the key ...... well except firing up that is!!! Prior to starting I did turn the ignition on and off quire a few times to get the Module working and into programming mode.... Any advice greatly appreciated
Check FUSE C dude 20amp under seat Sounds like you have put the adaptors the wrong way round on one end! Hence that's why you couldn't adjust..............(No need to have engine running to adjust)
Fuses looked ok but have replaced and got bike started.... so either the fuse or the battery needing more charge.... will investigate that further tomorrow... As for the wiring this is what I ended up with....
