+1 apart from I ride a Multistrada not a blade. The 1199 was far too focused for me, IMO a good track bike not a good road bike.
I got a reply from the comedians at St Neots Motorcycles........... opening gambit is £4500 to swop but that's only if I leave the Termi's on the 1199, all the rest of the carbon they will swop over to a 1299 (if it fits) apparently the termi's wont fit as they have switched to an Akro system on the 1299. Hmmmmmm, I would guess this would equate to nearer £3500 when you are stood unblinking with your cheque book in your hand and they know my 1199 they supplied is low mileage and mint. But, I think I will hang onto it for a while longer, buy a passenger friendly second bike and wait and see what Uncle Honda does with the blade in 2016. Then again, lets see what happens in the Spring.
If I were you'd Id spend the money to change on some nice BST wheels, and a full system, Corse system at that or that Ti Akra you talk of and a remap, nice!
Haha. Great minds Arthur. I was only looking at BST wheels for it the other day. A remap would also be nice if it could make it a bit more friendly below 50 mph as its a bastard in traffic. But get it out on the open A & B roads and its awesome. However, I would give up a bit of the high speed warp for lower speed friendliness. Its not like I can use the top end very often. And no Officer it honestly wasn't me on the A14 early that Sunday morning.
Sod that, if I am going to have it tricked I will send it down to you. You can order the bits at trade and split the margin 50/50 with me. You can also map it and polish the pipes. In my world labours vat free if its paid in kind, the folding kind. Wink wink. It might be worth you pm'ing me with some ideas and a guide price Arthur.
Haha, ok mate, let me see what I can sort, I know some nice chaps at MotoRapido for mapping, Wilf knows a little about mapping the 1199 he maps the ECU and has learned a bit from the BSB..lol. But yes, the rest, no problem
Thank you Arthur, its worth looking into. As I say I would give up some of the silly end stuff to make it fuel and run a bit more friendly at law abiding speeds. As I am sure you are aware it can be a pig at low speeds but its fantastic once you get the chance to give it some air. I Look forward to your thoughts. I will send you my private email and mobile number.
No problem, will chat to my very good friends at Snells and Wilf. Wilf is THE man at top level but the guys at Snells also know the deal, mapping wise I am sure something can be done, you know how it is, sometimes it's the last few quid that make a great bike greater.
