If it was the tyres the bike was fitted with from the factory they probably wont be the same spec as if you bought them over the counter, which could account for them being so bad.
Yeh these are factory supplied and it's not the first slide I've had so they don't overwhelm me with confidence. The only thing I dread is taking the wheels in to get the tyres changed. I had a bad experience with a motorcycle dealer way back when in 92 on my RRN Blade, they actually deformed the rear rim in places where the tyre bead tucks behind and scratched the paintwork too on the front and rear...well pi55ed I was.
I had same experience with the Bridgestone BT016 the bike come fitted with. Mainly it was the rear wheel spinning up, so i asked various people in the industry and they all said that the tyres that come fitted from the factory are lower speced by the bike manufacturer to keep there costs down, the only thing they resemble with the same tyres you would by over the counter is the look and tread pattern!! I changed after i heard that for a set of Metzeler K2s and have not a problem since, but i dont expect them to last to long! I always take the tyres to be fitted at a club meeting or bsb meeting, and so far ive been lucky and never had a problem.
Bear in mind gents there are bt016 and bt016 pros.... You can buy both over the counter but the pros are new higher spec I think, the standards I would expect your get OE! Had the pros also. Great tyres
just had a rear bto16 pro fitted still have oe on the front bto15 with lots of life still in it and as they wanted £159 for a bto15 rear or £117 for the bto16 and they say that they will work together just hope there right ?
