I agree about the cost, about 1.5% of the cost of the bike, about peace of mind etc. but with finite funds peace of mind ain't half as shiny as a Brembo master cylinder or new set of levers. And I do like shiny stuff
Now I know JUST what you mean, and I am the same "Id rather spend money on stuff I can see than stuff I can't"...lol
I like both performance and looks. My Arata system filled both criteria, lower weight, higher performace and looks pretty......result. Having said that was it worth the £1300 ? well to me it was, but I am sure my Mrs would have a different view .........that's why I didn't bother to tell her.........or was it because i am coward. The cost of the exhaust though was not the 'actual' cost, then there was the PC, fitting of the exhaust and PC plus the dyno time for the custom map.Plus of course it was better to do the flapper mod and pair valve etc and that had to be paid for. So all in all about £2000 , scares me a little, but the bike runs beautifully and pulls really hard and the exhaust looks great IMO and without the lower heat shield (which I hated with a passion) it now looks more like a sports bike. As it is a keeper I do not mind the cost, but would not have done it otherwise. Next year will be the really invisible cost of having some head work done, crank and valves etc. But again, it's a keeper and I want this bike to be quick......really quick and then I will find something else to do on it..........pretty wheels no doubt that also make it look better, turn and brake better,,,,and of course help it be a little quicker overall. Not really worried about dyno figures, just the amount of rush I get when I open her up, that's my buz
Your happy mate thats all that matters, get some new pics up so I can have a good look.. I need my head looking at too but im afraid to go as they may not let me back out..
