Arthur, tried the same today,Geoff was out, back in tomorrow, might be worth you asking the questions, you obviously know what questions to ask!
hilltop motorcycles 01455 848522 Been speaking to a bloke on Facebook re Geoff at hilltop..the bloke I spoke to has had his ecu flashed on his blade and its producing a claimed 187 at the wheel now. Full arrow sytem as well.. Arthur will be reflagging ecu's next week
Will have to see about that...lol MotorSport ECU Tuning | ECU Reflashing | ECU Remapping | Chip Tuning – ECUnleashed Tuning Technology: The Go To…To Go Fast Company | Honda CBR600RR & CBR1000RR – ECU Performance Reflash ECUnleashed - ECU Flash 2003- 2012 CBR1000RR +16 HP - YouTube ECU Unleashed : Honda CBR 1000RR Motorcycle Forums: 1000RR.net I have been over and over this before many times, still to date and after more time etc it's hard to get answers on it, tbh until I see the software first hand running on the dyno I'd have to say my bike will stay firmly with PCV etc, I'm not into dark art tuning methods...lol Good luck with it, do post up the results etc, maybe some pics too Oh I should say I sent a number of emails and calls etc, when you find it so hard to get info etc I'd have to say....I'm out.
Must admit I prefer the Idea of a Powercommander. At least to can be unplugged if need be.. I won't be altering the brain of my blade.. I'm sure lots and lots of man hours have been put into making it what is so cant be that.. Power ommander for me.. See now the sp runs tomorrow after the arrows been fitted
I used a guy called Malcom at MB Customs in Pevensey. I took both my Busa's there when i did the exhaust and air filter upgrade and i was expecting to have to go down the PC route but he was like, no no, i'll just remap your ecu and he straps it to a dyno, whacks the laptop in and starts his voodoo !! Brilliant results he gets and he is a master of horsepower and bolting turbos to things... He rides a 650bhp Busa himself.. on the road ! I'll be chatting to him again real soon when i get some more gogo tokens !
Well some would argue secondary electronics is an added risk of failure, but end of the day it's a means to adjust the fuelling on an injected bike, you could add an ignition module if you wanted to change IG trims too, as I say my frustration with it is lack of answers to questions, then people get the hump with me when I ask follow up questions, I'm not saying I don't believe the results just sharing my thoughts on the matter. And sharing what I know about mapping FI bikes. The Honda ECU is well know for being locked down by Honda, I could have a day long conversation about it based on over 20 years of experience with such things, as I said before I am always open to new tech but like the full facts etc, a full understanding of the product etc... Blackness, as I say I know it works well on many bikes and I know the capabilities of those bikes and direct ECU mapping, but it's the blade I am interested in here
It's a good topic mate, would love to see this ECUunleased running, if anyone goes get some screen shots etc I'm alright got some great people to deal with namely DynoTech and HM Racing
This is the before and after dyno map at Hilltop. The changes made were ECU tuned, akra full system exhaust and high flow air filter. The bright red is the new power curve and the dark red is the new torque curve. Blue lines are the old power/torque curves. And like everyone else I'd like the capability of returning the ECU to stock, and this can be done on the stock instrument panel (as the ECU can hold multiple fuelling maps) Not saying one is better than another. I was pleased with what Geoff had done on my BMW before and and that's why I have gone back.
^^ Yeah looks very good, still would like to know if the same or similar results can be done on the Blade....
Got hold of Geoff today, seems a decent sort,he told me he has spent about two years and £13000 getting the remap for the blade to work properly,to be fair he went into a lot of detail that went whistling over my head,he claims that only a factory reset can change the remap after he has done his magic and the programming will recognise any changes after the remap. For instance remap with stock exhaust, put an after market exhaust on after the remap and the programming will make the necessary changes to keep the bike running sweet. He doesn't touch the HISS system and only changes what needs changing to obtain best performance, all for 360 notes, sounds great and new worlds dyno printout seems to back that up.
Well that throws me a little, as for example the Lambda sensor on the bike is about the only way it could detect changes to the system, the sensor is narrow and has a very limited sampling capability! Confused.. if you have a full system and the Lambda is removed then what? How could it detect change? For example DynoJets Autotune uses a wideband sensor in the exhaust it has full sampling capabilities and can detect the fuel and air mixture very accurately, the narrow sensor fitted as standard is only used to trim the bike in the emissions testing zone, know as the closed loop zone.
I don't have the knowledge to throw low ballers like that question to him Arthur,he seemed to have all the answers to a Neanderthal like me!
Maybe the best bet would be for him to come on the forum and fully explane and answer questions from members..
