Ready Rent, Transit Panel. I will collect at 16.30 on Monday and return it back Weds 08.30. £100 deposit.
thats the problem i have with renting van. need the afternoon off before TD to collect, the day off for the TD & the morning off to drop the van off (unless you can dump it and leave keys but not many allow that).... it's a ball ache!
I can hire a transit for £84 for Monday 14th track day, anyone else in Grantham area want to come with me to that track day and share the cost?
I still reckon on riding there as i've just bought a big ass generator, so you could just carry your tyre warmers in a rucksack, job done. p.s. my smaller genny will be up for sale by the weekend now
What generator you bought now? Trouble is my bike is in full track day spec and can't be ridden on roads, no lights and it getting darker for longer now So will come in van if I can get someone else to share cost Plus if I dump it and have a ride back home you never know I have never ridden to a track day and won't start now lol
I take your point, although you shouldn't worry about it being in track spec as long as the horn & number plate are present as that's how i got the Triumph to pass its MOT, you just need to know your hand signals Leaving & getting home before dark could be an issue this time of year though. Bought this. Rated up to 2.8kw, runs 2.5kw all day. Surprised myself when the smaller one ran my kettle without tripping though. Gonna advertise it this weekend, along with my tyres as i just picked up a set of Diablo Supercorsa SC2's. So with the new tyres, warmers and genny, I just need a dry day now
Same generator as mine it ran well on last track day Darker mornings and nights and getting home if I crash the bike is the reason I will never ride to a track day If I can't make it this year I will sort out a tow bar and trailer for next year so that I don't have to rely on my mate for lifts all the time
Yeah, if i were to track my blade then i would probably take your view, but with me using a track bike I reckon i'd be happy to lock it up and collect another day, although i dont live to far in this case. Tyke: Have you checked insurance quotes yet for when you pass as vans can be more expensive to insure than cars. And car + trailer may be a more viable option?
Yeah I am going to get a removable tow bar fitted I reckon Always a handy thing to have Then will need to source a good single bike trailer Not sure whether this will be done in time for 14th though, have you booked yet Muff?
Not yet as I'm stuck in a hotel working down south til sunday, thank Apple for ipads I have a Westfalia detachable tow bar which I rate. Re the trailer, just keep your eye on ebay, that's what i did till one came up that i liked and then picked it up while out on a job. The way i look at is that i've saved myself £30 in trailer hire every time i use it, but if you're hiring a van....
Here you go. Breaks down to hide at the back of the garage. Only problem is it's up near the Toon. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321217567804&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123
Just put an offer on TDR for someone elses place on 28th (who is also selling a credit note BTW). May also do 14th.
Anglesey as late as December can be fine - being on the coast it almost never gets frost, just the wind / sea spray can be an issue at times! Not seen any cheap days there advertised yet with anyone Correction, Nolimits, Sat 19th October, £85 for international circuit
I just managed to agree on a £35 place based on a name change from someone else who can't make the 14th. He has another one if anyone's interested, bargain Edit, got the date wrong, i bought someones place for 28th Still looking to go on 14th though and have updated the 1st post with names.
