YT don't let this get in your head you will be sweet mate my zx6r and the R6 that sent me to the moon feel so different to my blade you gotta gel with it might take a season but they are bloody good bikes get suspension sorted and have a pop . I did in the end start to do some good times on the r6 at pembrey this was only a 99 even done some mid session track tempratire feeling lol .
Don't be daft mate, I'd be worried about not gelling with bike with racing looming.... Valid concerns dude. I'm just reminding ya not to panic!! It'll be fine....
As Jimbo has rightly said, they are valid concerns, but use the trackday on the 9th to get it sorted out properly. If the bike doesn't feel right, don't push, get it seen to. Remember, all you need to do this year is have the aim of losing your orange bib and gaining experience. Signatures is what counts.
right my track bikes Jimbo - R6 99 - lovely starters bike, different sit position to the R6 2006+ bikes GSXR600 K6 - only had it a few months cbr1000rr07 - one season cbr1000rr09 - 2 seasons gsxr600 K9 - 2 years, but didn't use it much as I had the R6 2003 at the same time R6 2003 - 2 seasons as our endurance race bike, did most of my trackdays on it as I preferred it to the gixxer R6 2006 - bought to sell on and did one trackday on it as my blade wasn't done yet 2013 blade - rode it first time last week Also raced on gsxr1000 K1, gsxr750 K5, cbr600fs, R1 2001, R1 2003 All of this since oct 2008 the race bikes are all from other teams that I have subbed for, the 09 blade I had for the longest as the others were more to sell on or I came across a better, newer bike and could sell mine on for more than I payed..... The 06 R6 I sold before I even had picked up in the UK, the guy picked it up at my trackday. Didn't like the sit position one bit, but also didn't want to fall and force anything..... I think you can gel to any bike given a bit of time just get the suspension sorted first and then go from there
You cant go wrong with an R6 YT; these were mine back when I thought I could ride haha. The newer ones are much taller; especially with a race seat. I lowered mine by changing the dog bones & it gave me much more confidence. The bottom pic was my first ride; it was so much quicker than the old one; but just a bit tall.
