These bastards started Christmas displays a week before Halloween. We were at the Home Depot near my office and they already had the plastic trees on display and the music going. Now, the stores are full of Christmas. Madness, I tell you, madness!

As a child, I remember it would start filtering in around Thanksgiving (end of November). In a few years I expect it will start around July.

Yep, the old 'keeping up with the Joneses' in streets across Britain. With so much emphasis on saving the carbon footprint, this is should be on the 'banning' petition also. Ah, toss it - let's get rid of the friggin' Easter Bunny too!! (Mmm, think I'd best go now!)

Lol we're all sliding into the Baah Back in my Day age group...

Remember when you used to sit there as a kid hearing the grandparents banging on & thinking please god don't let me be like that when I'm really really old and wearing M&S nylon slacks like them

But it's inevitable and inescapable as this thread is proving  :D

I had a father EXACTLY like that. He despised neighbours parking on HIS side of the road (our frontage). He would immediately set a sprinkler going on our front lawn, ensuring a more than liberal spray covered the 'offending' vehicle.

There are few things that make me want to pick up a 249 and get to work more than a gaudy inflatable Christmas display.
