I still reckon with the full fairing kit, headlight, infills,airtubes and wheels i have, you could make an 08-11 look like a 12+ with ease. Yes, forks and clocks would be different and you'll need to swap the plug on the headlight but that's it surely. I'm close to buying an 08 now, going to shift my old gsxr600 I think and then I can prove the theory one way or another.
If you go with fairing plus, they now have the 08 plug on the lights too! Depends how far you want to convert it to a 12 blade.
I think it would easy if you have 13 +14 ecu loom an clocks fairings lights radiator n fairing brackets. I did this 2005 put 2007 on mine.
Haven't read any of the links, but I'd suggest if it's a complete transplant of the plastics including the headlight but NOT the clocks it would fit. Ok, you may need to change some of the support brackets from those from a 12 on. These thoughts are due to the point that isn't the frame a rear subframe exactly the same, which aside from the the dash bracket which may not be the same what the plastics fix to? The mirrors are the same, so would think the dash bracket will also be fine as that the fixing point for the nose? Why would the loom or indeed the headlight wiring need changing? What's special about the 12 on headlights, are they not a H7 bulb? That's a genuine question btw, not a statement. Nav- you want HID's anyhow, so wouldn't be concerned by the headlight wiring even if it is different. You've no PAR system, so finding a home for that kit is also excluded. I could well be missing something basic and obvious but he who dares wins! besides, our very own Chops has proved anythings possible.......
The MY12+ Bikes have additional LED running lights in their Mirrors which I don't think previous bikes do do they?
As far as I know mirrors on 08+ and 12+ bikes are the same - my 08 (which I had from new) had LEDs in the mirrors.
I don't get the need to update the bikes looks to be honest as I can't see it when I'm on it, tucked down behind the screen, giggling like Marquez on crack! However! If anyone wants to improve the looks of their 14 blade, just transplant the bodywork and exhaust of an 04 to 07. Now that would be an improvement worth the effort! Surely!
