You can pick up a Dynavolt battery on Ebay for less than £25 . I bought one last year and had no problems so far although I don't have any alarm to drain it down.
a lot depends on how loose your clutch is set too regarding bumping with a slipper,if's set loose,so you the clutch disengages easily then it will be hard to bump start as the slightest lock up on the rear will allow slip.
Hi Scooby You say it depends on how loose your clutch is set,can you explain how it is adjusted one way or the other,or am I just being thick. Cheers Stu
on a standard blade I'm not sure, spring actuated ones, you change the spring rate,or even remove a spring (r6+earlier zx10's for example).on the stm's or other ball+ramp styles, you change the primary or secondry pressure plate for a lower/higher force rate (depending how you want it to act)
I had this happen to me. Walked over to bike keys in ignition, turned on then some bloke came talking about the bike. By the time he'd finished I'd forgot the ignition had been left on, pushed the button and nothing. Pushed it down a hill and jumped on it and the clutch just slipped. So I phone the HI (Her Indoors) rescue number. It took towing the bike with me holding onto the door frame of her car at 30mph to bump the mutha! It did mean that I got to play out for at least another hour to be sure the battery was charged before putting it in the garage. From now on I press the button as soon as the needles sweep back, no matter whos talking!
