Yours will probably last for 2 years, if your lucky( read the reviews). My new one will probably see this bike out.
Last one lasted 8 years and already had this one 3 years so and mine isn’t the rechargeable one all the reviews on mine have 4 1/2 stars
sometimes the connector does not engage properly and therefore not open the valve fully so putting less or no air in. Otherwise generally it is the air leaking past the seal on the piston (a bit like in engines). Sometimes putting grease around the edge of the seal resolves this provided the rubber has not perrished. 9 years is nothing my single barrel pump still works great although I added a twin barrel one few years ago. Started out with michelin which had excellent reviews but turned out to be crap and didn't last very long I prefer a simple mechanical type plus a good quality hand held gauge
I got electric one in aldi a few weeks ago , set it to what ever psi and it auto inflates to that , seems good so far https://www.aldi.ie/autoxs-digital-tyre-inflator/p/079510167889600
