Here goes with my report then. Guys, & Lady. What a great day, I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute, what a great group we have here, surely the 1000rr forum must be the envy of the forum world? Right so I left home at 9 to head to the Marriot A short while and 5 fags I got a call from Giv to tell me they had just met at the east lancs and they were soon to be mobile my way. So I thought I'd use my time to to a bit of "green Laning on the Blade. So another couple of fags and............. Aye up. It's the Firebloke. A nice chat and then the Cheshire/Wirral boys start to roll in. Here's Giv leading the pack. Then Si? He's going to ram my bike!!!!!! So we have a little chat. Well actually half an hour and we decide to head off to Caton.
I think a big thank you is in order for all the boys coming from the west coast as they had to come through some really bad weather to make it today
The weather had started to move into our favour and we had no rain as we set off. A little confusion in Caton and we all have a well earnt brew. Head off from Caton towards Hawes. Due to the recent poor weather we decided to travel the low road to Hawes, We have a quick stop at the Ribble head Viaduct to change into waterproofs as its starting to look a little dodgy. This is the result of hanging around in laybys. You get to meet some right dodgy folk Onwards an upwards to Hawes. Bloody heck. We are the first to arrive. Quick to the Cafe. We all look on as Fez explains to us all how he uses shaving foam in photo shop. Ash makes a run for the door. The blades have now gathered in Hawes. Trust the Repsol lads to muscle in A good chat and a few yarns it's time to get some fuel. I'm sure I saw the garage owner rubbing his hands together when 12 fireblades rolled onto his forecourt? .
Giv trying to work out front from back I think? We roll off through the Vally floor to Sedburgh. This is a great road, sadly due to the rain it had washed a hell of a lot of Debris into our path. Parked at Sedburgh. It was now decision time. We wanted so badly to get up to the cafe but the way the weather was closing in it was just going to get shittier by the minute? That's me out of pictures. Other were taken and I'm sure they will make it on here? We headed west to Devils bridge for a brew and a good chat and shake each others hands before we headed our separate ways. We went back over Kellet and Quernmore with Firebloke leading the way. We stopped one last time at the A6 church town garage before we split at Preston and went to our separate ways. My opinion? A great day had when a lot thought us quite soft in the head for setting off in such conditions. We met as unknowns on a forum where our one thing in common was our passion for Honda fireblades. We left as mates who can't wait to do it all again. Thanks Fez for suggesting it and thanks to my fellow riders for making it happen
A top day with great peeps and peepess, as said a little damp to start but when it dried up it just got better. That copper at Devils Bridge was impressed with the gathering of Honda's finest, and the run back home was FUN .... can't wait for the next one. Pics-
Great pics fellas! Reckon us southern boys will have to come up and give you a run for ya money next time
Guys it does look epic, you've all done a man's job, especially Ash. She was sitting next to Giv' after all. I'm jealous of you all. More pictures as you all recover guys, bring it on.
Tell you what kpone i'm going to sleep like a baby tonight i'm knackered. .(Giv and Blaggers are both pussy cats)
I believe you, but I live next to a RSPB sanctuary and I'm worried they'll try and get a court injunction against my pussy cat and he only weighs 3 kilos.
Glad you all had a good ride! Soz i never made it but for me 40 notes petrol money and not been able to use the bike right is just a waste of money we Deffo need to do this on a MINT sunday!!
A credit to you all especially ashblade turning up to meet a group of men from an Internet forum! Will defo try to get to the next 1! Ps all those blades lined up at roadside look mint well done all
im guessing thats not a compliment lol. a power commander and a custom map would help a lot. it could be worse though as i could have taken the baffles out
