You should really worry about the type of person that puts themselves forward for that. Better off picking a team by committee every 6 years. No opposition, no media scrutiny, let them get on with it. Select from people in chosen industries at the top of their game. Pay handsomely and leave them alone. It becomes a civic duty, no different to jury service.
