Uber tyrewarmers at Demon Tweeks, Andy did me a great deal at £103.00 delivered. Something else to put on your list Gary if your going to get out on track regularly.
Putting yet another wet night to good use and doing a little retail therapy for the gixer. So far after a little bit of fleecebay I've ended up with....... 1 spare clutch lever 1 spare brake lever 1 generator casing LHS 1 engine casing RHS Now for an ask the experts moment, is it worthy of getting spare throttle and clutch cables? The ones fitted seem spot on but I'm in one of those 'you never know' moods. But At this rate I'll be taking two feckin bikes to the track!
Clutch can go at any time so if it's cheap get one. Just have a box of spares separate from tools to keep it easy to bring with you. Have you booked a day yet?
Not as yet Al, but please watch this space, I'm hoping something is going to come to light on here this evening
The more spares you carry, the better. Also worth having a look for a spare screen (Airblade ones are good) and also a set of clip ons from fleabay.
Cheers Robin. I know to some looking in form the outside may be thinking WTF, but already I hear of stories where a simple drop can ruin a whole day for the sake of a £10 part.
No I agree totally Gary, you can never have too many spares. Things like a spare gear pedal are also useful. Basically anything that can get ripped off, worn down or generally made useless following a spill are worth carrying. In the long run, fixed footpegs may be worth looking at. Diamond Racing do some very good ones, for reasonable money (if you search on fleabay for "diamondrace" as a seller, you should find them) and all the bits can be replaced individually. Keep us all posted on how it is going.
Just an update with the progress, FFs don't tell Bats, but went to Halfords today, forgot the axle nut is 36mm, anyway they took £12.99 out my pocket. Not sure if I posted the trailer I bought up on the forum before? Sorry if I did Going to get some 5 bar chequer plate I think to fill it in, easier for loading the bike. To help me to support the bike whilst strapping it down, this arrived this afternoon. As you can clearly see by the picture, it's a little wider than the track, but I'm not going to butcher anything, I'll just use longer bolts and pack the inside of the track with some shims or similar to prevent crush. It's only 25mm higher than the base, so I really don't think there will be an issue? I'll be able to remove it quite easily and put it on some feet so I can use it at the circuit should I need too? More to follow soon :Edit: Forgot to mention the Baffle from Beowulf turned up too.
You! The only one of us likely to ever bump into the caped crusader by accident.....You, went to Halfords!
