That £2K service included all sorts like new headrace bearings, discs pads, belts, valve adjustment, new tyre I think etc etc Took 2 days also.
Who is doing that ? My mate is itching to buy / sat on the fence and this may just push him over to a purchase!
They're giving away free Termi's as no fecker is buying much now and most will be waiting till March the 1st 2015 now!
Is there a 2015 model with minor updates round the corner, and do they want to shift the last remaining 2014 bikes to clear stores for the new ones ? Heard changes were really minor and no big show stoppers
No changes to the 899, well bar a crank update but the 1299 has revised fairing and tail changes plus push button clutchless up and down gear change and lean angle abs or something like that
Am glad they didn't go single swingarm on the 899 for next year or I would have been in deep doo-doos with the missus.
No, I probably would have done. Am currently telling myself I don't want to test-ride or buy one yet as I would prefer a single swingarm.
Well as I predicted I have not had a chance to ride my new 899 since I brought it home from the dealers. It has been tucked away on paddock stands in the garage but as the sun has started to shine I took her outside just to run up to temperature and take a few photo's. Over the last couple of months I have added a tail tidy to get rid of the monstrosity that they come with standard, fitted a seat cowl and put some wheel tape and Corse stickers on. Normally by now I would have bought loads of carbon, exhaust, levers etc but the days of throwing a fortune on bikes has sadly gone but I am happy enough with the way it looks anyway. I will tax it come March so hopefully it might have warmed up a bit more in the next week !
looks fantastic.. I will be booking my 1299 test ride as soon as it warms up a bit.. these bikes just look stunning..
I sat on a 899 at the bike show, I have to say, I fell in love, the seating position felt amazing. Been told they're ridiculous to maintain though.....
They are no different to maintain than anything else these days. Ducati service costs have drastically reduced because they do not use belts anymore. I get my bikes serviced in the winter as the servicing costs are cheaper.
Yea if anything the service intervals are longer than most other bikes. Pretty much a thing of the past with high maintenance costs on a Ducati.
