Got a new mounting position at Donny yesterday. Rear facing to get some leg action and forwards to get the fork/wheel movement.
Just grabbed this from some of the footage. It shows just how I'm getting it wrong i.e. need to move the foot in and hang off more.
I got told off for the same thing last week. Apparently keeping your toes and heels in helps with lower half stability. Been putting into practise and is has just moved off from feeling weird and wrong to just being a bit funny.
That just proves that I should get some tuition rather than keep making the same mistakes on track days then.
Did 5 previous days before I was picked up on it. Suppose they had other things for me to sort first, but the instructor I had last time was excellent with technical information. Ironically I need just to get on track and try and put it into practise rather than have more instruction at the moment.
That's the great thing with modern technology now. If an instructor is giving you information on how to place your feet on the pegs or anything else for that matter, it makes it 10 times easier to absorb that information if you can see with you own eyes where your going right or wrong
i see alot of you guys placed it at the fronf under the headlight is it not vibrating alot ??/ i did it on my other bike such a waste of time it was it was shaking alot
Check the mount isn't loose as some copy ones can be a poor fit. Generally it should be ok though if the camera is set to wide angle as the movement becomes less noticable.
Ok so tested the GoPro again today with adjusted settings, and new official GoPro suction cup mount. Absolutely solid, and crystal clear video and pics.
Owen, what camera are u using, I have a drift and although the picture quality is good and i have remote..not sure its a good as this
I tried a few different angles when at Cadwell. front nose facing back. Left and right fairing by the crash bung and on the rear facing back. they came out well but having 16gig's worth of vid to get through I will try and get around to making a mini movie at some point when I have 8 hours to sit and try to edit it all
Has anyone used one of these? Surely they can be easily modified to use the gyro on a bike. Tarot TL68A00 Brushless Camera Mount Gimbal w/Gyroscope ZYX22 for Gopro 3 fpv e | eBay Walkera G-2D Quadcopter FPV Gopro Hero3 Brushless Gimbal Camera Mount QR X350PRO | eBay
Sorry Muffking only just saw this i havent read through the threads so if im really too late just ignore me ha ha . I only use the genuine mounts i had the sucker come off at about 90 ish mph bounced into a field so all good ha ha . I use side of fairings tail and nose cone i bought a bag of adaptors and really just have a play with different positions and that . I dont use as much for racing as it has to go through scrut and have a tether so really sometimes how hectic it is i cant be arsed over the years never had a sticky mount come off and one saved my helmet as it wore the black pad away slidding along rockigham tarmac just on the mount bonus ha ha . https://www.youtube.com/user/wedgiewolves this is my youtube account if you really want to be bored lol
No worries Lee. It was one of those ongoing threads which we can use as a resource to figure out what our options are. As it stands I'm still experimenting with different mounts.
