I'm not an expert....but a transaction for an item has taken place and is documented through eBay. Can an administrator lay claim to an item that was sold during the death of a company?
the administrator may have all ready laid claim to the asset which has now gone walkies!?! and if you read the post - it was advertised via ebay but a bank transfer was done for payment. At best i'm guessing the correct route would be notify the police who will certainly take the bike, then a civil proceedings would have to be started to claim the money back. difficult from a dude who is skint. if indeed the administration theory is the right one.....
Thats the key isn't it, if they've already laid claim to it and he's sold it from under them. Would the administrator seize the paperwork and not the asset? Probably because it's easy for them.
But anyway, as has been said...if this bankruptcy theory is correct. Fingers crossed it's lost in the post
Think you could be jumping the gun til you know for sure. Wait til you get confirmation before you go mad and top yourself !! Maybe he thought just a bike to the couriers is worth £1000, but with the logbook it's a £5,000 full price to sell on. I'm always optimistic, same results just happier for longer !! As my boss always tells me. Fingers crossed.
Hey everyone! Firstly million thanks to all your help and suggestions, feels great that there are people out there that actually give a damn. Fantastic community here, I must say! Anyways, guess what? V5 appeared in my post, yay! It is registered under his private name and address so shouldn't be a problem then registering here in Ireland. Funny thing is that date stamped on envelope is from the day I texted him to let him know I will contact the police. Interestingly enough, he didn't reply to any of my messages or emails, not even after he posted it. Some weirdo I'd say. The only downside is that I will end up paying bit more for registration fee as it went past 30 days limit since bike entered country. Happy days! Once again thanks for all the comments.. If anyone happens to be touring Ireland, don't hesitate to contact me, I'm always happy to meet new friends and discuss bikes (and other stuff), perhaps show some nice coastal rods.
Hey, same outcome, just happier for longer. . Pleased it worked out for you, maybe his life is up in the air at the moment and last thing on his mind. We all get times like that?
