Don't know about Jonnys but here's what I use on my supermoto and have sold to others, note for price you need to pull down the menu and select engine size, Jonny batts are a good deal if people went in on the GB.. Speedycom Performance Ltd...
They are the pukka 'Racing Batteries'. Lots of info on their site, link below. Link Product Information
OK agree eat less, best and cheapest way to loose weight on the bike but a lose of 2.2KG thats a hell of a lot RB240400 Racing Battery
I'd of thought fine on what is says it's for 'race bikes' But most on here are road/track bikes aren't they so just overkill really and pointless for road full stop Oh well. Any other group buy suggestions?
So what would you do with that 2.2kg saving, ? Accelerate faster, more top end? Do you use the 170+ hp you have now?
I was like that when I was 8 stones dripping wet. Now I'm 13 stone I reckon a nice solid centre go gravity and extra traction on the back wheel is paramount.
This is strange. Many members here swoon over cheap useless tat that they fit to their bikes for no reason other than "it looks coolz", yet this genuinely useful product gets flamed for being pointless?
I thought weight affected every aspect of a bike's performance, you know, handling, braking that sort of thing. You already know this of course though!
So you reckon that's a value for money purchase for a +170 BHP roadbike with a 14 stone rider on it. Buy it then! There's other stuff that I would prefer to waste my money on!
No, I actually posted in another thread that they were a bit too expensive ATM, but that doesn't make them pointless and they are one of the cheapest ways to save weight from bikes which are already built to be lightweight.
The batteries are very good and it’s an easy weight saving and they are smaller as well (for example Ballistic Battery etc.) I had to replace my lead-acid battery on my old bike almost every other year and spend about 60 to 80 GBP for each of them. 200 GBP might be a lot of money for a battery, but people spending a lot of money for carbon fiber parts and don’t think about the money neither. Anyway, thank you for the offer Jonny ! Shorai Motorcycle Battery vs. Ballistic Motorcycle Battery Comparison - webBikeWorld
These people stock the Shorai batteries - CARROT CYCLES - SHORAI LFX14A2-BS12 (14AH 12V) (CASE SIZE 2) I think this is the one recommended for a Fireblade - it has twice the capacity of the standard lead acid battery and in real terms is only about twice the price of an OEM replacement. Ideal for someone who doesn't use the bike a lot as they don't discharge any where near as fast as a lead acid battery when left unattended. No need for a trickle charger. Great in cold weather as they are not affected by low temperatures. Steve
