Morpheus.. need to take the side farings off, and remove the radiator bolts at the top and bottom.. this allowes better access to the header pipe nuts at the front fo the engine. remove the link pipe and rear can, and then simply take the headers off the bottom of the bike, and smash away
Sounds awesome. Do you reckon the bike would run okay if you did this and you werent running a pc3/pcv?
I have my 07 de-catted and rear baffles out, I don't have any kind of pc3 or pcV and it runs fine, in fact with the cat out the throttle response was better
Hello Tom.. When you say you have the rear baffles out, is that a standard can and did you do the hole cutter job down the silencer trick ? Any chance of a vid to hear it as i want to molest mine in such a fashion too !
Yes it's the standard rear can, though didn't do the hole cutter thing, I split the box at the weld and chopped the baffle out with a chisel. The baffle is actually titanium, at least it was on my bike and was quite tough. I will try and get a video up-loaded of the bike
Very tempted to carry this out then in that case. Only drawback for me is I dont have the baffle for my akrapovic and if the vid is anything to go by, the bike will be to loud for trackdays.
Chris, I don't think that its too loud - I suspect that you would be fine for the track - its more raspy rather than boomy if that makes sense
If you're on about mine, it is raspy with a deeper undertone on the road with full throttle, and a lovely crackle and pop on the over-run/de-celleration
