Had a great email from healtech today the chap in charge of the quickshifter project. he said they are determined to make it the best standalone shifter on the market and they are still developing it. He said you cannot set shift direction as the sensor doesn't detect directional movement, however he asked to see my rearsets setup and sensor location thinks he can improve false shifts. He also said it has full logging, can record your whole ride which you can then open and review shift timing to improve setup. He's sending me the instructions to enable this so will report back. Also the fireware updates are pushed out to the app you don't have to reinstall it he said more features coming soon!
Liked the vid but ironically it has made me realise that I won't be putting a QS on my RR7. Think they are a great bit of kit but just can't be arsed giving the insurance company another reason to bump my price up.
Well I have word back from Healtech, they have a new sensor now with all new kits which you can mount in line on the shift rod. They are sending me one to try should sort the annoying cuts when you catch the lever. Can I bring this back to life fitted mine today while it smooth at constant rev or gradual increase when under hard acceleration it jolts . Any pointers ?
STD setting wasn't good in track so adjusted to these. But still kangaroos at real heavy acceleration.
Here are mine ,took a while to fine tune as you have to take into account a slight amount of wear in the movement of the shifter side, my rose joints have a little play in them.
Your cut off times are rather short which might account for your problem Is your chain good and correctly adjusted as this can cause some jerkiness if not
Hi Peter chain sprockets are all brand new and adjusted. I have moved the sensor to inline on the shift rod to see if it makes any difference . I noticed the cut of on your is greatly larger so that food for thought to.
its hard to explain for me. if the acceleration is constant or gradual increase it shift really smooth, When under heavy gas it get hard and like see saws into the next gear . where the bike dives forward then backwards .
i have now moved it to this position, to see if its better. Only road test can i see the result, its just confused me being smooth as on gradual gas then choppy under heavy gas.
motul 5100 Peter - 10/40 fully sync. i remember the manual test produces 30 to 45% reading on change. IVe spoken to a few people and they say theirs are all silky smooth which is what thinks ive doing something wrong. ive saved my settings so will go through the wizard again with new position. .
QUICK UPDATE ------ spoke with healtec. removed washers and relocated to shift rod. adjusted kill time from 70 to 55ms all sweet now.
