Yeah, I agree with you, but you could always leave it in lower gears & have fun that way. TBH, 95% of my road riding doesn't see past 8krpm But it's nice to have it and not need it, than needing it & not having it
Easy peasy ....Never! I reckon on every third or so ride my litre bikes have always reminded me not to take the piss Stir the box, push it a bit and then my crap riding will reach a limit where the bike will scare the bejesus out of me with an unexpected slide, fish tail, throw me out the seat or what ever.....just enough to remind me I'm not the riding god I sometimes think I am I've never found litre bikes easy peasy and boring just harder to master and super scarey when it goes wrong because it happens so much quicker. Got the xrays to prove that They maybe boring on the commute but that's not their natural habitat
Just seen a new 44teeth video where they were on one of my favourite roads, up hartside pass. Shame it was wet and they were on big touring bikes. We might not get the best weather up here but we have some brilliant riding routes! I miss having the ninja 636, my first proper bike and to me was a rocket ship! Would like to try another 600 after having the blade for a few years.
Whats the latest on the new cafe at the top of Hartside? I always call in there on my way home from Scotland.
Last time I was there people were still gathering there and there was a burger van etc. Apparently these are the new plans. No idea when it is due to be completed.
There is another cafe about 2 miles outside Alston called the Nook which a lot of bikers have started using instead. I will do my run up to the top where the old cafe was ( because its such a good fast stretch of tarmac) then rurn around and drop back down to Alston and hang a left just before the bridge to the Nook. Huge car park and a nice place to stretch the legs.
I still have my 400. Still brilliant fun in a different way to the Fireblade. If you think a 600 lacks torque.... My son's CBR500 monsters it on roll ons. But when we hit the power band we're off into the distance. I took it to the Dolomites in Italy in 2019 for a week. Didn't miss the Fireblade one bit.
