Thanks for that. It might explain why I have had no answers to 2 emails to Arrow over the past couple of weeks!
<sarcastic and jaded> And yet we lust after their bikes be they Aprillia, MV or Ducati, whilst Mr/Mrs Honda answer the phone/email all year round to simply say "no known fault that we know of" </sarcastic and jaded>
Quickshifter x 2 Dash melt down DES Motor Both sides Engine Cases x 2 Generator cover x 2 Clutch case x 2 Bottom Yoke Hand Throttle Casing Top Fairing Clips Allen Key bolts twisted off in swingarm x3 Spent over £100 worth of fixings that vibrate loose.. And most importantly roasted bollox
^^^ Holy crap! I got no probs with the roasted bollox stuff - I actually live for it, but the other stuff is a shame and an embarrassment for Ducati for what is supposed to be a top-of-the-line bike.
Quickshifter went in July got the bike back 2 days before a trip to Spain, while in Spain DES went, engine, clutch and generator cases have been trying since June last year to get done. Ducati finally agreed last Monday. Total bill for the above QS £600 DES £1600 Engine cases £1000 Clutch Generator £350 + vat & labour... If I didn't have extended warranty £955 purchase when new...……….. it would be set on fire
My mates qs went twice on his pani then the fool went and bought a v4 pani and the eng man light was on before he even got to ride it.
Cable for exhaust by any chance ? Was going to go for a V4 Corse until we went to Spain until my mates EML came on the day we went after filling up with fuel before we left !! It was intermittent to start with but on permanently after a couple of days, then notice some of the fairings rubbing each other, turned out to be exhaust cable. So that made up my mind to go to another marque. … Has much I love my Ducati, literally the biggest regret it has to go. I've done 3 trips round Europe on it about 8k's & 30 days issues on everytrip.
Not sure what it was, but it was red and wouldn’t start fixed under warranty but got it back and it was amber when it came back Ducati said give it a hundred miles something to do with the exhaust servo or something.
Brom66 I have had my sp for 15 mths now nearly 4K miles and the QS has been fine as N has said make sure on correct sensitivity setting ...I at times do not hand about on it and it has been fine ...ride it like a 600 as when I came from Ducati we are use to the low down shove... Gearbox issues at TT a while ago where made by Nova and not a Honda unit so no worries there... Enjoy..
Wozza 1299 was 212bhp 113lbft at the wheel full ti akra ecu flash by cjs, so I think I may need to do more than ride it like a 600
Brom66 I have the standard model with the QS fitted. Only had the bike for 2 months but in the 3500 miles so far ridden I have not had it drop out of gear. I do sometimes get -- instead of a current gear indication in 6th but the bike seems happy.
Was hoping to collect on Thursday, but 1299 is still in having warranty, while they ordered new engine cases they didn't order the O-rings that need to be replaced at the same time... so maybe Saturday now FFS
Collected at last, didn't get to Vertu Nottingham until 18.30, grateful to them for waiting fecking traffic, so Cornwall bound via stopover in Bristol..
In all the excitement forgot to insure it, luckily just managed to do so before Bemoto shut at 1600, next step fitting the Ventureshield before any stone chips come about.
