get a torch and look up inside the air intake tubes either side of the headlight, you can just make them out a few inches up inside the tubes ... You should be able to see the springs aswell

Not easy to get a picture of!!

. or is the under the seat still the beast idea
Is there room in there then? Or does another mod need doing to create room? Also if its a tight sqeeze i would be worried about the heat from the ballast

If your putting it under the seat it should be good ... The mini ballasts are smaller than a pcv ....

I'm away for a couple of weeks but am gonna try again when I get home. My plan is to stick them where the actuators are for the intake flaps

Thanks for that's. Although your ballasts are different from the ones I have ordered. I don't really want them on show though. Think it's gonna be a tank off and under the seat job!

Did you drill a hole for the grommet to sit in on the rear covers for the bulbs?

I'm only gonna attempt the low beam though as want to be able the flash the high beam.

I might fit some of these at some point, I think i'll remove the exhaust valve servo gubins and put the ballasts in there

On my bike with the daytime running light that brings on just the one light is it possible to wire it so they both come on as low beam?

Andrew, the other light has a main beam reflector and is differently angled. Technically it is possible but it will never look like both on low beam. It'll look a little like a drunk pirate with a lazy eye.

I'll scrub that idea then, i've just never really liked the look of just the one light on

Does anyone use a 55 watt kit in their bike or would it drag the battery down too much?

55w kit should not drain anymore power than the standard bulb as that is also 55w rated.

    I don't think the 55w ballasts are E-approved though.

I'm fairly sure none of the Hong Kong kits are e approved!
