TBH I was only asking as a Guy over on Motoforum has a virtually brand new 3 month old one off a ZX6 going for £300! Was considering wazzing it on the Tracker but no Auto GPS is a downer although I do have that covered with the Solo but space is a premium on Bikes
is there any logging data with the unit,as in does it have any internal accelerometers/gyo's etc,or is it purely GPS data it shows?
wid ya! if you can extract the data off the dash onto a laptop then theres loads of editing s/w you can use to overlay the data onto a vid.i use dashware,it's pretty cool, and quite easy to do
I know its very shallow but the Pata Honda Bikes had a splash screen from what I have seen. I appreciate that the HM Dash isn't colour but it would be a nice cosmetic feature.
just having a look on the website,it doesn't say anything about anyt internal memory or the ability to download any data, although i know it does store lap times and has a USB port so can only assume you can in transfer data to a laptop, but as far as any logged info i'm not sure. no doubt arthur can help or even jimbo as he uses his on track.
Thank Art, yeah would love to see the footage at some point. Something overlayed on a track vid or something would be fantastic. Not looking at buying one until prob Feb so plenty of time to do some research
not exactly arthur, some do need calibrating to the various info it recieves, but they are becoming more plug+play these days through the can/bus terminal,AIM pista/pro for example and the racetechnology dash2 pro.the AIM solo DL for example logs all the data that the ECU reads which can then be transfered to you laptop for analysis(i know this is only a logger, not a dash but the pista/pro works the same way as does the RTdash2). so on the BMWs1k for example(different bikes will log different amounts of data as the ECU doesn't read as much info as the BM),27 channels are logged through the ECU+the 9 or so GPS channels.this plugs directly into the diagnostic terminal, and just needs 2 mins to tell it what bike it's connected too. but obviously this does come at a higher price than the HM (although the RTdash2 isn't much more). at the end of the day,if you just want a bling dash, which shows as much or as little real time data as you want/need,then the HM is spot on,but if you want another tool to help improve your riding (track more than road really) then i'd be looking for something else.
I had the translogic on one of my bikes. I had the starlane GPS to go with it so I got everything I needed. To be honest the translogic dash was more than enough for my needs doikg trackdays. It's really well lit up and displays everytime clearly. I've sold the dash now along with the GPS and msnagd to pick up a hm dash with the gps installed for the same money . I was very lucky to be honest. I've not ridden the bike with the hm but initial feedback Anx thoughts are saying it's so much more. If I was in the market to he buying one again and if save a little more and get the hm one. Quality kit and im looking forward to getting it set up of if my clock stay lands today. I've been very impressed with all the hm stuff up to press. Stikl got my ss shifter to fit that I got on the forum discount . Is it March yet
I rarely look at the dash any way when I'm riding, usually got my eyes closed just praying I get back into the pits in 1 piece
Has anyone fitted a TransLogic dash to a 06/ 07 Blade . Thinking about a HM Dash but just looking at other options.
if anyones interested, there is one for sale on ebay for £400,or TDR (the same one) for £375.it has a gixxer backing plate but only costs £50+vat for a model specific backplate from HM. if your not on there,i can get his contact details if you like, seems like a good bargain to me!!!
