Mines is coming off to be fair as well clutch-less changes are pure mint even tho you dont need it all the time but that one time down the straight on on the road you do use them its all worth it. Get the new box and get another shifter down the line the box is clearly the problem but even if it was ok you never know you might have been as raged as I was with the HM put it all down to experience dude
Right the reply to the healtech basically because I said so lol I cant see how the other manufactures of qs dont make there units that small there must be a reason for the size, after watching there installation vid and seeing them put it under the shift arm blot for clutch less down shifts I thought bullshit right there most of there vids are just them dynoing a bike. Just looks like cheap shit to me ill stick to buying race proven tech, im no rossi and im not a millionaire but for the same reason I dont buy nitro helmets ill not be buying that
Size isn't everything carlo.... been telling the wife that for years lol. Trust me they work more than well enough, run on voodoo magic and fairy dust. To be honest I trust this more than my last bazzaz unit which went tits up!
Lies size is everything never seen anyone with them to be honest and to be fair I would actually tell people to give them a try instead of the Hm unit
How many of you guys have had trouble with their HM QS's? I'm getting one fitted next week! Is it only a couple that's had problems? Is most of you satisfied with theirs please let me know before a go ahead will it! Cheers
i can't speak for the HM, but have the healtech on mine and its great, Lambchops switched from HM to Healtech and might be the man to speak to
Had and fitted plenty of the HM shifters with only 2 issues! One had been fitted by a qualified mechanic who had it in the push mode rather than the pull mode! And had some units off them last year and someone from the factory had the wires around the wrong way in the connector! One phone call to sort out and new looms sent out FOC! So really all Human error!!! I've used both HM and Translogic and there both as good as each other! I do like the fact HM do an entry level shifter that's still adjustable and works a treat! ..... Not tried these App type shifters.... Much prefer Hardwired stuff if I'm honest.
the healtech is hardwired same as the HM translogic etc, only difference is you can control it with your phone
I think you may find that if the healtech qs device fooks up I don't think your phone will do piddley squat to turn it on or off that if it can even establish a connection to it! The idea of using a smart phone to adjust the qs is all good and well till you see it for what it is a gimmick.........how often do you really need to adjust the device once it's been properly setup??? I have a hm gp for the road bike and an SS for the tracker and both of those have never needed to be touched once the things were setup properly, yeah they did take a bit of fettling to find the best setting for the bike but since then never had to touch the settings.
If the healtech goes tits up you get a jumper to plug into the coil loom to bypass it without all the faff... to be fair once all quick shifters are set up you'll never touch them again it so what does the setup matter... nice to switch my phone on and see the unit working and do test cuts. Again cuts out on all the faff. When my bazzaz went tits up it took me an age to find the cause. They all have pros and cons. I've had all sorts of quick shifters and like the healtech so far, just some folk don't like the fact that it runs on witch craft lol
Nah I'm not feeling it seriously, once it's set up you shouldn't need to fiddle! Apps and phones are seriously prone to fecking up.... I'm not saying they don't work I would just rather stick with what I know that's belt and braces....
na, ye are all missing the point with the phone app, if it fecks up, the shifter that is, you can run diagnostics and find out the problem, you can also switch it on or off from the app plus a whole host of things, but change and technology differs from person to persons point of vew.
Sounds interesting, good job we have so much choice these days, I'm sticking with the race proven stuff that's been around for an age, old school perhaps, how does the price compare to say the entry level HM superlite? RRP is around £230...
That all sounds good and well but it would depend on how the device actually goes poof does it not? Can't do any diagnostic checks if the smart phone can't connect to the qs! Can't switch it off if the wiring itself is the fault...........which from reading other posts seems to be an issue no matter the brand of qs!
healtech is same price give or take a quid, its very good to be fair, i don't doubt HM or translogic, they all work in the same manner but with different systems of control, each to there own as they say, if we all went for the same life would be boring
Ah now that was a very similar question to one i asked before purchase, i am led to believe that if it goes poof as you say whether its wiring or the box it's effectively not connected and the bike works as normal like having no qs on the bike, same as if you switch it off on your app. All very clever shit.
