Well I'm already married and already got the kid :) & I've had no tax rebate, but that price just seems too good to pass up!

FlatstickHRC, could you ask Slingshot if they are willing to do gb and if so, what numbers do they need & how low can they go?

Oh yeah regardinghe RCS I would suggest fitting a regular 19x18 as they're miles cheaper and would expect spares etc to be cheaper and more readily available too.

To swap to 19x20 you just fit a 20 ratio lever which are about £15 but on the road the 18 is great.

    Also flatstickHRC,

could you ask Slingshot if a linkage rod is needed to as I'm a little confused (it's not difficult to confuse me) :)

    Thanks

    That was with the rod

He asked me what rearsets I have so he could get the right measurement.

The rod is the same length as standard though.

I can't get to my bike to measure it though. Don't suppose someone could take a measure of the shift rod for me? Just the silver rod, not including the Rose joints.

Ok, that is a good price then.

I can't get to my bike tonight, but I could try and get to it tomorrow if no-one else can measure it?

I have the standard rearsets on my bike.

Sorry fisher according to HM we need the length of the rod alone.

Take 10mm off for threads, it should fit fine, just for the record I bought a shift rod custom made from SES racing for £8

The HM ones are tapped for left and right handed threads I think.

Was your SES one the same length as OE? I cut my SES one down to make it the same length as standard which fitted better.

If it's not too much trouble could you check again please. Either the OE rod without the Rose joints or the SES one if it's the same length.

    Thanks mate

The SES was the same, left and right threads, but this was on my track bike mate GSXR600

I'm in work now, so I wont be able to re-measure the Blade till about 5pm

The ones HM provide are tapped to accept both left and right threads at each end. Don't know how that works but must be a special tap used for dual threads somehow.

Usually the rods are right handed one end and left handed the other end.

If anyone could get that rod length I would appreciate it.

I don't have the bike at home at the moment, but I'll try to get down to her before the close of business today.

I ordered my shifter this morning

Asked him to send the OE length rod and he didn't ask for the measurement so should be ok.

    Thanks

The length of the rod alone is 178mm (at least this is the best measurement I could get with a tape measure) :)

This is on a 2007 Blade.

    Thanks mate

Was that the OE one or SES one?

I had to cut and re tap my SES one to standard length to get the position I wanted

Brilliant thanks for your help mate

I will ring him back just to let him know the measurement in case he needs it after all.

I paid £345 for the QS plus with the rods and including delivery. Said I will have it by Monday. That's a good £50+ cheaper than list price anyway.
