I have to say I would never have considered wheels however I have been unhappy with Grantham on the last two occasions, and I know them! No body has the same work and customer ethics they used to have! The question is can you ask for a specific mechanic?

If the damage is on the mid fairing, its a pita to fit that sticker without bubbles. I would personally demand a new fairing as it will never be the same.

Today I received a positive response from Grantham Honda, as you guys are aware I was a little circumspect about having a replacement decal and would much prefer a replacement panel. The MD of Grantham Honda bikes a Mr Chris Taylor agrees and has instructed the service department to this regard:)

Because I know one or two of the guys at Honda I was reluctant to argue with their initial assessment of what was required to put the damage right, however, I was unaware that Honda keep an eye on various forums to, i assume, gauge opinion and customer satisfaction and they picked up on this thread, oh dear:eek: but they have responded in a positive and proactive way. One could argue that this should have been resolved in this way from the very start but i would prefer to take the view that positive customer service ethic must come from the top down in any organisation and in Grantham's case this is clearly what has happened here. Mr Taylor has come across this thread and has responded accordingly. I'm a little concerned about showing my face in the dealership:cool:

This does mean my bike will not be available for tomorrow's ride out guys, may be next weekend!

That's good news Carl, the sort of customer service you expect, and the dealer should provide, to retain your custom. I wouldn't be worried about going to the showroom, at least Mr Taylor may have kept a very good customer on his books due to reading this forum.

Sorry to hear this tail of woe Carl, I know you look after your rides in the same way that I do. Glad it all turned out right in the end mate.
On a similar subject, I gave my Panigale a deep clean the weekend before last and discovered a very small chip in the left hand fairing and a dink in the rear of the radiator both of which I haven't done and could not be flying stones. I informed the supplying dealer at St Neots expecting some reluctance to admit they had happened during the PDI. I was pleasantly surprised this week when I got an email saying they still haven't received the photos ( as I haven't got around to sending them ) as they want to date stamp the issues and ensure any parts are ordered in time for the first service.

Oh and Arthur, regarding your comment mate, my old man used to have a saying, you sleep in a hotel and eat in a restaurant, you wouldn't sleep in a restaurant so why eat in a hotel............he obviously never did get to see me passed out in the all night Indian when I was a teenager, but he had a point.

Ducati dealers appear to look after their customers David, they have certainly looked after you:) let us know how you get on. I'm told my bike will be ready Wednesday so I will have to brave an appearance to collect it :(

I shouldn't be concerned Glyn, I walked out without a complaint over my oil leak with the intention of never going back, however it's better the devil you know sometimes and the sales guys are nice chaps . It's like sending your food back at a restaurant, you only do it if your not going to eat it ;)

I collected my bike today with the 4000 mile service done. For those following this thread they have replaced the damaged panel with a new one rather than replacing the decal, and fitted the venture shield to said panel. As a gesture of good will they reduced my service bill by 20 percent.
Thank you Grantham Honda, great customer service:)

9 days eh? Last weekend was a cracker with the weather - but 9 days and only 20% off? Pleased your happy with it and I'm sure it cost them money as it wasn't warranty work but I'm not sure Grantham Honda will be seeing my Blade again.
I think after the intervention of the boss the bill would've been 'forgotten'? But hey customer service only goes so far -but considering your well known in the dealer and on this forum I would have expected more?
Just my opinion of course but the shit I have to go through when one of my guys fcuk's up - you wouldn't believe!

Glad it all turned out roses in the end Carl, ok 20% is not much but it's better then a poke in the eye I suppose. I guess it's time for a mega clean and tuck away for the winter and dream of next spring.

We needed to sort out that dinner with the girls mate, do you want us to come up your way this time ?
