My mum was bound by local bylaws to inform the fire service before she switched on the oven.

Mind you, we're talking about a woman that leaves the gas fire on when she go's out so the goldfish doesn't get cold.

    True story.

Thanks Ash. The truth is, I don't cook, couldn't be arsed, not interested. Probably the youthful trauma of every meal having the potential of a My Lai fire bombing. I do like my meat well done though, probably the same, suppressed neurosis.

But even I know the goldfish doesn't feel the cold.

...He's got his little house to shelter in.

Don’t get me started. My mother has been running me ragged this week, called me at least twice a day to get her mobile phone turned back on, she has not used it for months so O2 have killed the sim card. It’s not the first time it’s happened but she is 'desperate' to have it on! Just so she can turn it off again and leave it in the drawing till the next time.

Edit....Ling just corrected me; no she hasn’t because I have ignored most of her calls.

Soft lad. I haven't heard that phrase in a few years.
