Home - - top day as always I did not run out of fuel on track - the light came on, I did 3 / 4 laps so pulled in and asked the 'Rapid Response Force' of Steve, Jase and Andy for some fuel - no reaction (OK was maybe a little high on adrenalin and a bit shouty but pointing at fuel cap and shouting 'have you any fuel' I thought would give message!) - thankyou to James who supplied enough to get me back on track till I topped up at lunchtime. Was a very, very odd day timing wise - with some sessions 20 mins, others 30 mins, sometimes with 3 groups , other times just 2. The 'red' group had quite a few Red flags but we still got good track time Real mixture of riding abilities and no marshals on track - some very close calls (Red mist) - hopefully the front GoPro in HD mode plus rear facing £50 Argos GoClone camera will have something worth seeing later. Thanks all - roll on my next one at Donny in a few weeks (and my glued together brakes are fine!)
Awesome awesome day and it's only bloody February . Steve is ALblades new track biatch . "Fuel now Steve now" as Steve was eating a typical blokes sandwich like two bungalows stuck on top of each other . Glad Steve has his Mojo back on track and is getting good use of his inters tyres on track and he was flying . It was a funny day today with groups and I reckon there was a few riders in the group me Steve and Andy were in we're thinking this is fecking mental as we want flying past them .One bloke was on a gold wing or similar who looked like he took the wrong turn of the motorway and ended up at oulton park. The aim solo laptimer is awesome but it does push you on a bit faster than you would normally want to do on a track day . Saying that matched my lap record today so happy with that -1.52 Good to meet up with everyone and see you all soon and hope James is ok Feel like I have whip lash at the moment so hoping a hot bath will sort that out for next week .
Im ok, I just lowsided at knickerbrook (I think thats the name of the corner) The front went on me quick. It happened 3-4 laps into the second session. Probably still a bit damp there. We probably had half the gravel trap back in garage and I stupidly emptied the fairings and airbox in the garage floor lol. Unfortunately I couldnt get the fairing secured onto the fairing bracket. So the idea was to turn it into a naked to get me back out again but the marshals said no to that. Theres not too much damage to it. Fairings cracked, air tubes smashed to peices, clip on tube and fairing bracket. I also got lucky with a relay in the front fuse box, I found it the bottom fairing lol So not too bad. 3 weeks to fix it ready for mallory park on the 15th march. Still a good day though and good to meet the "northern massive" again!
Have every session filmed / recorded on Front and rear face cameras - footage off the GoClone is amazingly good - the mount had some wobble which has impacted the results (was a rush job last night to find a way to mount it - GoPro much better in this respect) Not sure I'll get anything uploaded tonight as pretty dead and hours and hours of it - maybe I'll just look for James in the Kitty Litter!
Had a top day today! No issues with the bike which meant no issues in my head so I could relax and enjoy my day! First few sessions were wet so took it a little easy......well I thought I was until I nearly highsided at Hizzy's chicane! The back stepped out about a foot but felt controllable so quickly got back on the gas. Soon changed to my beloved inters and felt so planted on them. Also had slicks but didn't use them. As Jase said the sessions were very odd and the half hour ones nearly killed me! Think we did around 185 miles in total! Not bad for £49.00!!! Managed to stuff Jase up the inside at Shell Oils but yet again he spanked me as we exited. His 09 has a real noticeable edge over mine in the midrange. Couldn't really have asked for a better day especially in February! And what better way to spend it than with your biking buddies! Felt really sorry for James, it's a shit feeling when you bin it. Just one other point, I see there's some pics from a guy called Gringo......Funny thing was, he's off the forum....must've known we were there, but didn't come over to say Hi !!!
glads you all had a good day, sorry about the off james but doesn't look too bad. think i'll be shitting myself by the time i get out with all the practice you boys are getting so early on
