How old are you?

Just read through this thread. Most are so young...... Bought my first blade, a CBR929, as 70th birthday present to myself and already upgraded it to a 2014 ABS model. And still stuck at 70 until next January, . Don't see it getting any better as suspect the knees may preclude sports bikes ultimately.
And keep meaning to post in the new members thread. Will try to do that in next days. Mike

I am 55 and spent a lot of time training to be a grumpy old tw4t, I think I am about there now

 

I don't feel so bad now
At 47 a lot of my reasoning for getting the blade was to do it now before I get too old to be able to ride one. Sometimes I feel a 105 but get on the bike and I'm 11 again and just as happy as I was riding an old Suzuki TS250...overtaking the school bus I should have been on

Don't think you're ever too old as long as you're still enjoying it and physically ok. There's guys I know in their 70''s here on a hp4, several blades and a couple who are out all the time on one a them big hp2sx jobs...keeps them young in their minds too like you say Massive difference talking to folks in their 70's still on bikes and some who aren't.....happiness and positive attitude levels soar with bikes I think

 

Well I'm going to be 70 in November so I just got my driving licence renewal through.
The only hard part is getting into a full leather suit as I don't bend quite as well as I used to and my feet get further away every year.

 

Yup, keeping the mind young definitely helps. When I picked up my bike I had about 110 miles to ride it home and was pretty much bricking it about that - one, I'd not been on a sports bike since haring through Saltillo in Mexico 5 years earlier on a R6 with an exhaust that made it sound like a Harley, and two, just because it was a Blade and had almost twice the horsepower of what I had been used to when I did ride regular. After the first 5 miles of getting used to the clutch and throttle I have to admit the bike itself it such a stable platform that it makes it easy to ride. I have adjusted the gear pedal down a bit so I had a better throw with my foot as the previous owner was way taller than me but apart from that the bike is a joy.... I guess I will be chipping you regulars here for help from time to time as I do all my mechanical stuff myself but need the knowledge now. It's definitely a friendly place for sure, so thank you for the nice reply
