I found the s1000rr extremely comfortable, in fact the most comfortable ive ever felt on a litre bike.....

Ive been fitting some Gilles rearsets and its raised my feet by well over an inch which now means i can rest my elbows on my knees and with the stompgrips its so comfortable i could fall asleep:eek:

Hope you get this sorted mate, be a shame to let the SP go for one of those run of the mill Be-Ems :)
I altered my suspension on the new bike and it transformed it for me. So I hope it does the same for you.
Your more than welcome to try my anniversary blade for position if it will help in anyway...do we know what they changed position wise between models.
ie is it something that rear sets or clipons may solve?

I did 170 miles the other day on my sp and had same problems! The grips seem thinner possibly? I also found that I seem to sit a lot further forward on the sp naturally computed to my 2011 as soon as I sat further back on the seat it seamed to help! Definetly going to look at tank grips and possibly changing grips and levers?
I couldn't fault the suspension definetly smoother than my 2011 was!

Can you not talk to Yorkshire gooner (Mark) and put a set of pre 2014 bars / clip ons on your SP and standard footpegs to see if that solves it - or even bar risers / Gilles vario bars?

You will take a big hit if you sell it on - surely worth spending a few hundred trying to get it comfortable before selling ?

Got the Gilles 40mm Vario Riser-bars on my Blade.

There is nothing on the market with more adjustment by a mile.

Price is high but so is the quality and function.

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions guys I really appreciate it. I tried a few things on the way in this morning made sure I was gripping the tank at all times and I tweaked the lever positions slightly but still had the pain. I will take it to a suspension specialist and see what can be sorted out. Been keeping the bike standard at the moment as no point in modding it if I am going to have to let it go. Bit concerned if I will take a big hit on the price as it's still a unique bike and attracted a lot of attention at the Southend Shakedown the other week so I'm confident I'll get a good return on it and have a lot of equity in the bike it's not like 100% financed so if it does have to be sold at least it's at the right time of year to do it. But I will try the suspension avenue first.

My biggest frustration is though I have ridden all types of Superbikes R6's, R1's (Normal and Big Bang), Triumph Daytonas, BMW S1KRR, Ducati's, KTM's and even my 09 Blade I could just get on and ride it in comfort without having to really drill down and spend out lots of money to make it comfortable enough just to ride the bloody thing. I mean seriously is it that hard now to build a bike that you can just get on and ride straight out of the box? Pisses me off a bit as I told the dealer what it would be used for and they said all would be fine and it isn't. I've put up with this for nearly 2 months everyday now and I'm losing my patience with it.

Is it worth borrowing a standard 2014 CBR1000RR from a dealer and trying that? The riding position on that is the same as on your SP - and if you don't have a problem on that it must be the suspension / setup.

I would go get it setup correctly for your height/weight. I had mine set up and didn't think it could be improved but I was wrong. all it cost was £80 too.

I remember the footrests were 10mm further back and the riding position was more aggressive than standard by a certain amount of degrees but I rode pretty much every high end sports bike before I plumped for the SP and didn't feel any dramatic differences.

Shame you're not closer Nick as you'd be welcome to have a Blat on mine to see how they feel.

You might like it so much we could do a deal!

I emailed Dave Moss last night for optimum settings for my bike, as it's had a fork refresh the other week. You send him an email and he works out your settings for your weight...

I'm going to dial them in later and see if it makes a difference. Just a thought.
