Looks like me and Jimbo are going to be hitting the west coast tomorrow. Going to be cold but hopefully there will be some clear skies to take in the views. Happy days.

Ps the missus is a absolute gem. It's her birthday tomorrow and she's letting me go. I think this is going to cost me plenty:eek:

No pressure mate. The missus really is a gem when it comes to things like this.

So long as I take her up there when the weathers better she's more than happy for me to make it up to her.

I'm champing at the bit now :)

Bollocks no, I'll just have to lie in until I can process this alcohol.

James, you're a hero. Colin, you jammy bastard, you've landed a good 'un.

    Loving this thread big time.

    Peace out y'all.

Right... I'm back in civilisation (Inverness) so I have signal to post last nights report....

Well guys, today lived up to all expectations... Can honestly say it was one of the best days I've had on a bike... Yep, as good as the napoleon and my first time at the ring...

I woke to bright blue skies and optimism of the day ahead, a quick 40 mile cross country jaunt to colins folks house where he takes up there whole garage (I think he let's them store a watering can) who made me feel totally welcome... Despite me being a shifty southerner on a YAMAHA!!!

    Cols bike looking mint...

Anyway, we head off and the clouds start gathering and all I can think of is - here we go...

Col leads us through loch lomand, then up the glencoa pass onto fort William where we stop for lunch... I can honesty say it's the most scenic ride I've ever done!! I had to remind myself to watch the road as I was simply in awe of the place as it's totally magnificent, I'd never do the place justice so you will have to just come and see for yourself....

    At the green welly...

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1336313683.525467.jpg

Little stop over on way to glencoe

Sadly, Colin had to make his way back from fort William (something gay like his mrs birthday, cant really remember) so we parted ways as col headed for home and I west to that tiny island called Skye.....

Thanks again for such a great ride Colin, made my day...

Well from fort William onward the roads were just as good and opened up nicely to let the old r1 stretch her legs... What a ride! Another 100 miles of bliss...

    Had to be done!!

Got on the island and intended on doing a quick lap - error - the place is fcuking huge!! Got to the town of Portree and got a b&b bout five (nice place overlooking the harbour) then headed off to see the northern part of the island... Got back just after 7pm!!

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1336313828.347964.jpg

One of the most scenic piss stops I've ever had lol

All in all one of the best days of my life on a bike 328 miles of smiles... And all on our own little island (sort of)...

Little stroll and fish supper and couple beers me thinks...

Can't wait for tomorrow.... Mucho planned!!

    Laters...

Met up with our Jimbo yesterday, after his stay over in Peebles. He arrived at my parents house around 10 and we set off just after half past, after deciding to head up North via Loch Lomond, and Glencoe on the A82.

Stopping off at the Green Welly on the way up to Glencoe we both see a baby blue BMW s1000rr and go over for a look. Only for it to be a demonstrator with BMW being there giving out their bikes, including their adventure and sports touring bikes for a test ride. Very clever of them I thought as there is always a great croud of bikers there.

Anyway from there we headed on up past the Bridge of Orchy and up to the Queens View, where we stopped off for a few pics of some stunning scenery.

From there we headed on up through Glencoe and I'm sure Jimbo must have brought some kind of sun god with him as the weather all the way up was great. We reached Fort William and stopped of for a bite to eat and a chat. Unfortunately I then had to head on home to the girlfriend and let Jimbo continue on up to Skye and beyond.

Thanks Jimbo for letting me tag along on your adventure, and if you ever plan on coming back up again, please dont hesitate in giving me a call. Top man :)

    Well today was truly epic!!

Woke this morning to another glorious sunny day, nice cooked breakfast and on the road by 8.45...

Decided to see a bit more of the west coast and inspired by super cub, have a little look at applecross... What a place.

From there I thought I'd head north and round the next peninsular before tracking back to Inverness to start my journey back... Was soooo quiet, roads were awesome and the scenery immense!!

Onwards to Inverness I stopped for some lunch and decided to follow the road along loch ness which was absolutely fantastic!!

..... Well at fort william at about 4pm the plan was to take the glencoe route back (about 2.5 hours) that Colin showed me, however one quick look at the map, and clear blue skies... I just had to sample more of the coastal route.... So I followed the a828 and a816 all the way south to loch fyne, so glad I did as these were some of the best twisty perfect surfaced roads I've done all weekend...[IMG]

Scenery was up to scratch too! Lol

After rounding the peninsular it was onwards towards Glasgow, closer I got, the less places there were to get my head down so thought fcuk it, I'll get south of the city... Another hour later and I finally find a place to stop! At 9pm

    And yes today..[IMG].
    I did ride 500 miles!!

    Totally cream crackered now!!!

Bring on match of the day...

Do it fella! I've been blown away by it this weekend... Some of the roads I've risen are easily as good as anywhere in Europe I've been...

And the scenery is far better!!
