Seriously hope so. I'm doing the trip up north again this year for my hols with the girlfriend, and it would be great to meet up for a blast and a few pints to let it all soak in.

Just been looking at the pics and honestly can't wait. I'm sure you won't need to twist Dave V's arm to much to get him on board :)

James. You have raised the bar for us all, and we are in your debt. Your mystical journey with Obi Wan Colin has decided for me my next long distance run for me and mrs Ken in the car. I've even got a customer on Scalpay desperate for some colour management set up, so I can blag some business expense back.

Two epic road trip threads in as many weeks, there's a template here begging to be exploited.

Great thread, know all of those roads well, do them at least once or twice a year.

Sorry boys, wasn't that keen on getting todays post up as it's all a bit boring! Left at 8.38am and stepped through the door at exactly 2.38! 6hrs door to door just south of Glasgow (420 miles Inc 3no fuel stops)

What a weekend!! Was totally amazed at how good it was, if you can get lucky with the weather... The west coast of Scotland is as good if not better than anywhere in Europe I've been Inc the black forest (it spanks that) and south of France...

Four days, two shredded tyres, load of cash blown, chain and sprockets finished off, 1689 miles... Happy happy days!

Youve got to give it a go fellas, as lilly says, so much on our own little island to see... Before we all quickly jump on the ferry to the so called biking mecca that is the mainland...

Much respect there Jimbo, epic trip in such a short time, and some great pics. I'm a great fan of that area, spent my honeymoon around Loch Lomond many years ago, also had a fantastic holiday on the Isle of Skye, time I took the bike up I reckon. Won't be doing 500 miles in a day though, that's for sure, the old bones won't take it. Might make it my September trip instead of Germany. Thanks for posting.

I've been trying to remember the name of the mad Hungarian bike rider in the "Gumball Rally". In my mind's eye, this was Jimbo, head down, arse up, blasting across the country on his mission.

    It was, of course Lapchick.

Thanks for sharing Jimbo, I'm really pleased you had a great time, top man ColinBR for meeting up with you and having a run
I totally agree with the comments though, We have so many miles of motorbike orientated roads here, but yes sadly our obsession with the weather and our need for sunshine whilst out on the bike denies many people the experience.
Great write up, with superb photo's, after seeing this thread let's hope someone else will feel inspired to do the same.

    Jimbo,

Thank you for taking the time to make this thread of your journey. It shows what an amazing place we have on our doorsteps without having to spend thousands travelling abroad.

Great write up & great pics.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Rob.
