Is it easy to remove the rear shock?

Would this be OK for putting on the exhaust join to stop it seizeing?

 

I doubt it, at full chat you can get most pipes glowing, that would probably be around 7-800 degrees!

 

I'd use copper grease on it, it's what i use on the exhaust studs.
