Cheers mate. I suspect you felt the same last year. For ages it doesn't seem to be anything more than just a mess then suddenly it looks just like you imagined it would.
We did mate, yeah It was the constant dust and crap associated with a build that Em hated. I wasn't bothered as it meant i could eat crap from the local takeaways for ages! and i didn't have to cook!
My poor cars are suffering the most. I've not kept a car outside in nearly 30 years. It's frigging hanging. And now everything's wet, all the shit is getting tracked everywhere. Going to be confined to quarters soon and that'll be worse. I'll have to be here and watch it happening without joining in. I'm not built like that.
Put some pressure on them dude .If they are not putting up a full perimeter scaffold for the roofer they should be able to get the outside stoned up prior to starting the floor ,that will clean the place up a tad
Giv', all your advice is paying off. I correctly predicted that my roofing membrane would belong to somebody else this morning and I was right. I now have a huge bundle of torn roofing membrane, collected from several gardens to go in the bin. Where's the Fox when you need him.
Back to the North South divide I am afraid .Lets say if the Fox had installed the felt ( between crooning to Jeanette) it would have been fixed correctly ie laid over the trusses but then have all the slate battens installed and not just felted with the odd fixing and a wish it wasn't windy .Sack em off and let real men take over
Through my hangover (ughhhh), I thought I'd look on the camera and do a speedy update because I'm getting stick for posting phone pictures... Looking back, it seems to have moved quite quickly through this... to this... to this... (In which you can plainly see Bert's contempt for our builder...) through to this... Don't know if anybody saw in the news, we've had some pretty freakish weather conditions in these parts over the last week, so when I got home on Friday night and saw where the builder had decided to finish off for the weekend (forecast to include torrential rain and 60 mph wind), I was a bit puzzled and expected a mess on Saturday morning. I was right. All of the membrane on the far side of the roof ended up in the neighbour's garden and the rear half on this side was flapping like Giv's syrup in the breeze. Now I'm no roofer, but I'd have left that particular stage until the beginning of the next work day... Fair do's though. He came back and repaired it on Saturday morning before I'd even got out of the shower. But, that aside, the build is blending quite well with the existing, starting to look like it was always there. By the end of this coming week he should be well into the floor. I have to go into hospital on Friday and I will be home for a week or so recovering, so I might even get some action pictures if I'm up to it.
You're not wrong. The toughest bit at the moment is stopping the missus from attempting to tidy up. The shit pit around it is driving her mad but touching it is just wasted effort. Next decision is which garage door.
Auto door is a given, I was thinking of a roller one. I've got the height clearance and it doesn't take up the space. Proximity trigger or plib key?
Auto Insulated Roller Door with double width Guide rails and remotes. Also have them (or Sparky) wire you up a IP65 Keypad on the outside wall so you can still get in should you loose/forget/break/leave in house/car etc the remotes
