Just came across this thread don’t spend a lot of time in the general discussion section unless I pick it up in the new posts section.

Anyway here is my two cents worth, I have tried a few times to get along with the throw away type but couldn't get beyond the feeling of a bad cold when swallowing or the isolation feeling that’s similar to again a bad cold.

The best money I spent was on the plugs with the sound regulators built in similar to the ones phantom posted a link to but I got the Proguard noizezz (green version), for under twenty quid they are a good purchase in my mind. Can still have a convo with folk while stopped at lites or gettin fuel but the wind noise is greatly reduced tho can still hear other traffic n zorst.

I used to get sore heads and that crazy buzzin for hours after bein out on the bike. Not the best when being able to keep concentration is a big requirement on a bike!

Some of the reviews I read about with regards to the proguards were that they didn’t fit well, they come with 4 different silicone plugs that the noise regulator fits into, It took me a couple of rides to find the correct size for me as what felt rite in the house didn’t feel so good with a helmet on for a couple of hours riding.

Having used them in the past all depends on how well you get them to fit after you mix the compounds. IE not a patch on Ultimate ear but then again they are much cheaper

They do take a couple of attempts to get it right but once you are used to them they are brilliant - especially for the price!!
