Oh bugger, that ain't good Jase. Really am gutted for you, but try not to let it put you off, as the highs you get next time will far outweigh the low of this time. Sadly, as you say, it is all part of the racing game. Look at it this way, at least you didn't bin it and got home with a bike in bits. A mate came away yesterday with a snapped frame, bent forks, twisted exhaust system, smashed HM dash, bent front wheel.
As said today mate, 10 second into race 1 Snet will be a distant memory.... just wasnt meant to be. We will finally get our battle, i mean time on track together soon
So with my disaster start to racing at Snetterton I have just signed up for racing at Cadwell on the 26th/27th April . I am doing a trackday there on Monday 14th and weather looks good have been once before when I first stated doing trackdays so have a good idea where the track goes hopefully tag on to the back of a local who can drag me round . Hopefully Jimbo and Dave v are coming on Monday depends on Jimbos van . I know YT is there on Monday along with a few others I know. I might do the ACU test day on the 25th not decided yet. Can someone remind me of club times round there so I have something to aim for .
Might wanna keep an eye on the bike when jimbo's close!!! Just pretty sure he's lookin for more championship points mate!
Now that's not very nice is it!! true but not nice lol.... So glad jase has got his bike sorted and we can finally enjoy a some track time - I'm so excited for him as I know what he's about to experience. That first race is bloody awesome Will know this morning if van is sorted - fingers crossed as i fancy some track time Monday!
So here is a quick summary of my race weekend at Cadwell . First of all it's my turn to say to Jimbo how gutted I am for you mate not racing this weekend believe me mate I know how it feels.I should just copy and paste your posts to me about Snetterton. Friday Had planned to get there lunch time to do the afternoon session but due to work stuff wasn't going to get there till 5.30pm so thought I would do the 6pm-8pm trackday well got to within a few miles of Cadwell and the place was covered in fog and pissing it down arrived at Cadwell and the test day and track day had been cancelled as it was that bad. So set up ready for the next day and went to my b+ b which was only a mile away .
Saturday Well hardly any sleep which seems to happen a lot when I am doing a trackday or in this case racing so was feeling fecked but once I arrived at Cadwell to the sound of bikes and generators all was forgotten about my lack of sleep and my thoughts turned to the day ahead .It was wet and horrible as the forecast predicted but my wets were already on. So first thing of the day was QF i didn't know what to expect with the pace and was surprised to get 10th fastest -4th row on the Grid with 2.00 and was quicker than a few fast lads including Ollie green that won all 4 of the races this weekend as I was really holding back as really didn't want to bin it especially as the forecast for Sunday was good. So race 1 and all my YouTube searches on starts were put to practise well it was terrible I lost about 6 places and finished 16.With the lap times I did it put me in 18th position for race 2 . So race 2 I started better and finished 15 we were on wets on a drying track and my bike was wagging its tail big time I got caught up behind about 6 bikes and couldn't pass . After this race when looking at the times of the 5-6 bikes ahead of me I noticed I was running 3 seconds slower than I did on a track day so new then for the next day I had to QF well and get a good start.
Sunday A better nights sleep but not great So QF as soon as I heard our first warning to make our way to the holding area I went as I wanted to get to the front and there is a long fast straight so new I could get some heat in to my tyres if they had cooled ,as most riders were waiting to the 2nd or final warning then I new the fast lads would catch me up and I tag on to them this worked a treat and I was 3rd row 9th quickest. Got a brilliant start and passed 3 riders and got up to 6th then the safety car came out Was going really well and did a 1.40 ŵhich I was happy with as it was only 3 seconds of the winner and think most of my laps were pretty much the same for the 12 laps finished 8th and with my laptimes this also put me on 3rd row 9th fastest for the last race . I was really knackered after the 3rd race and wasn't expecting to much in the last race but to my surprise got a great start again and was doing good times 1.41 but did start to make some mistakes as I was feeling tired but finished 8th again so well happy . So after my nightmare at Snetterton couldn't of asked for anymore just gutted Jimbo and Dave couldn't make it but we have plenty more races and I am sure we will have pleny of laughs hopefully no more problems as between us we have had our fair share. Cadwell is an awesome track really enjoyed it and no limits put on a cracking weekend and I met some new and old faces and had some good laughs . Barney took some pics but don't expect any Jimbo or YT back wheel action I like small stuff not like these crazing dudes. So roll on Donny in 3 weeks . Also my blade didn't miss a beat and was singing to me on the long straights god I love this bike it is bloody awesome on track.
Must admit I much prefer the way NLR do their grid positions from race 1 to race 2. With Hottrax if you mess it up in qualifying you're goosed for both races!!
i'm not the competitive type it's very hard for me as i work weekends, adn struggle to get them off,but you never know maybe 1 day....
Don't know about that - I'd wobble round! Only been there in pissing down rain lol Another track I need to learn
Already asked him to do Donny but was busy but think we could talk him round for another time we have decided its a bit to much the 6 hour but plan to do a 3 hour first and hopefully talk Scooby in to joining us. What you reckon Scooby ?maybe yes no ???
