Well done Jase, good to hear the blade is back singing and you enjoyed your top 10 finishes if anyones looking for someone for an endurance race partner, I would be well up for coming over and having a race, but like sinewave asked, do you need a race license??
So racing this weekend at Donny and the weather looks good me and Jimbo are doing a trackday there tommorow as I haven't been before and Jimbo did a lap. Only one race Saturday due to the 6 hour up endurance then 3 on the Sunday really looking forward to it as there are a lot of people coming to watch and as we are finished racing from 12 on Saturday we can then have a few beers and get the BBQ on .
Good luck too both of you, donny is the only track I have ever been on and I found it great I'm sure you 2 will be fine Have fun
So just got back from a weekend of racing at Donny the weather was perfect and the company was even better . Friday I arrived Friday about 3pm as there had been a car trackday on we had to go in paddock 3 and wait for a few hours until they let us in to the garages so got set up ready for the next day. Sat As we were only supposed to be doing 1 QF and 1 race Jimbo and I decided to enter the no limits cup just to get some extra track time before the main day on Sunday where we had 3 races .It was only an extra £75 so worth the extra money to get a better feel for the track in the dry as we had only done a few sessions on a dry track there. I am really enjoying the starts and I am getting better at them and I am doing pretty good in QF as it feels just like doing a fast trackday day but once we all get away and the fast riders get there position on track I am finding I go in to a bit of trackday mode and will ride quickly but am happy to just sit in behind who is in front of me. Donny really is a big balls track and Cookie (by the way did brilliantly )and Jimbo(who also did well) have bags of them and I hope as I do more races I will start to push more but saying that there are some really quick lads and I am not in this to win trophies I am to old to compete with 20 + year old lads who don't give a feck but saying that I do want to do well. Sun Race 1 There were 3 races today and the weather was perfect again so we did our 10am race which went well think I need to look at my rear suspension as my rear tyres was getting chewed up. Race 2 I got on to about lap 6 and was pushing and was catching the group in front but came on to the front straight and went from 2nd gear to 3rd gear and it sounded like my chain had come off I got to the bottom of the front straight and had to pull over as it then jumped out of gear I tried to continue but there was a funny noise coming from the gear box so I had to retire from the race. I got back to the garage and I have lost 3rd gear so will get it looked at this week but guess it will be engine out job. I wasn't to bothered as i had completed 2 races on Saturday and 1 on Sunday so I still got my race card signed with the 2 signatures ,so I packed up and enjoyed the rest of the day by watching Jimbo and cookies last race which was brilliant to watch. So hopefully get bike sorted as I am due at oulton on the 28th may. Can't decide where to race in June as we are due at brands doing the Indy circuit which I must admit I am not getting excited about as I did the GP track last September so I know how good it can be.My plan I think will be to race in Thunderpsort as it's at my home track oulton park on Saturday 21st June then maybe do brands on the Sunday. Donnington park is an awesome track and one I will visit again as it's only about 1.5/2hours from me a pretty hard one to learn but the back section is just awesome and you feel like you are on a roller coaster at times.
You seem about as lucky as me sometimes jase! Hope itsan easy fix and all smooth running for next time
