I've got a book that explains everything and I've read a bit about it! :D When adjusting the forks the preload settings are from full soft but the dampening settings are from full hard rebound & comp! Honda adjustments are in quarter turn and not clicks and the shock preload is in steps rather than thread and 2 castleated nuts and rear dampening is same as front from full hard! Also before doing any adjustments to the setting all components and oil should be up to operating temperature so a quick 10-15 min blast is in order for accurate adjustment ;)

Steve, Getting a better ride for £35.00p is the cheapest 'Tune' you are ever going to get. My advice, for what it's worth, is stick with it a good while before doing any more, so you really get used to it. When you are past the 'new' stage and start to feel what it's doing on the road under different conditions have a tinker, you can always return to the Pro's settings.
    Good Luck,
    ......Mike.

I got my bike sorted at Alpha yesterday. The bike has been transformed for £35! John explained the whole process and what he was doing to the suspension. He also gave advice about how to further improve the bike if needed. Money well spent!

I emailed Dave Moss regarding suspension setup for my bike. I gave him my weight with gear on and what type of riding i do. This is what he said

    Fork preload 4 turns in
    rebound 1.5 turns out
    compression 1.5 turns out

    Rear preload P4
    rebound 1.25 turns out
    compression 1.5 turns out

He also suggested running cold tyre pressures for the road of 36 front and 36 rear.

I dialled these settings into the bike and took it out for a blast. Felt a bit stiff at first but once everything warmed up it was way better than the stock settings.

I'm 14st 10lb without my riding gear so figured standard settings were prob a bit soft as bike felt bouncy. Thanks to sinewave for sharing his settings and to stevie for reposting them as I set my bike up the same. Haven't been on a proper ride yet but on short runs the bike feels so much better.
That coupled with the new M7 RR tyres 34f 36r am so much happier with the bike:)
