I wonder how many of us has a problem. We could each send a proper letter to Honda.

Yep, I actually have a direct line, but I'm not permitted to broadcast it.:(

For the ordinary people, the UK Customer Service address is:
    Honda (UK) Customer Relations
    Cain Road, Bracknell
    Berkshire RG12 1HL
    01344 888000

A gentleman of the name 'Mike Costello' has always been most helpful.:)

Haha. I’m not sorry to see the ABS bike go either. I can’t imagine how the dealers can sell them on after all the bad publicity.

I've just noticed in the photos of various SP owners bikes on here that some seem to have oem black engine casings rather than the bronze ones?!? Are the US models the one with the black?

Yes. And some of the guys are spewing about it and have actually purchased the UK?Euro 'magnesium' ones.

Member @RC45 (also a member of the USA Forum (https://www.1000rr.net/) has done exactly that.:)

Edited to say: I have never learnt a reason for the regional difference.

Interesting. I'd be prepared to take the discarded black ones off their hands. I wish the casings on mine were black instead of gold.

Cheers....Id love an sp in a couple of years but I really dislike 2 things on the current one...the bronze casings and that awful plastic looking bit on the fuel tank :(Seems such a shame they've done that instead of having the lovely Honda paint scheme all over it.

I've never thought about the plastic on the tank, but now you mention it, yes, there should have been alternatives. Interesting that on the Dreamworks Red Bull replicas, part of the black plastic is painted over.

As for the magnesium covers, bling extraordinaire - I love them. I stop at a regular 'A' road layby, and the gypsy gals just come a runnin'!:D

I thought that was against the law. Didn't Stan Collymore get caught doing the very same thing? :D

That maybe explains Nige's bulk buy of GT85

    Dunno whatcha talkin' about;).

Anything to do with this extract from the can?:
    • Loosens rusted parts
    • Prevents squeaking
    • PTFE formula helps lubricate
    :D:D

The US spec ones are actually black plastic covers over even cheesier metal covers. They don't look real good up close. They're there for noise abatement purposes- North American noise regs are onerous- also why the NA bikes are WAAYY down on power.

I actually put TechSpec tank grip on mine- needed some extra help to stick (I used two-sided tape), but it looks like it belongs there, and is exactly where I need it.

I thought this was really best posted on this thread, rather than hijacking to other thread.

Wow. I've never heard on that bad. That is exactly what RC45 wanted to hear. Perhaps you should post it in the other thread also. It's not hijacking - it's relevant.;)

Edited to say just noticed it is on the other thread.

That's terrible Kev...I've not heard one as bad as that either. Just noticed it's up to temp too and not on start up either!
