20mm pistons, Valves, seals and springs at K tech are £400 fitting is extra.

For £495 I could get the ohlins 20mm pistons(fitted), but when i'd spent £700 on the shock. £295 and £45 for fitting and set up, was all I could afford, that comes with the springs set to my weight re valved, new seals and correct oil grade and level. (also the rear set up and fitting)

The original forks are transformed with this upgrade and I read on the Maxton site that one of their bikes competed at the top level (TT I think). So should out perform me wobbling around with the intters.

Its only £195 different but its still 40% more on the forks, if I sent £495 what could I get for £595 and so on.
I'm not the most knowledgeable on suspension but read around and asked questions and for what I wanted to spend the OEM 20mm pistons seemed the best value, if changing pistons the 25mm seemed to be the only option worth paying extra for.

I think your seeing my post as criticising your choice, I'm not.

And 400 pounds for ohlins would have been the piston kit, an ohlins cartridge kit is northwards of 1300 quid!

Sorry I was editing it as you wrote your reply(it did read cartridge),

no I dont see it as criticism. It's a forum its all about discussion, Do you think the OEM pistons are worth changing for 20mm aftermarket upgrades?

Yes mate i DEFINITELY do, cartridges really are only needed for racers, a piston kit, weight matched springs & proper oil will be more than enough for a fast road/trackday rider.

I cant say how much improvement they make, they really do make that much difference!

No I mean the extra for the piston change (£220 +) I already have the spring valve, seals and oil. That has made a fantastic difference on their own.

Bats, thats why I went to Kias as they run a ride in ride out for £295, Maxton are great and know their shit, but Kias only deal in suspension as well.
