Feel for you, you can't risk the aftermath if you don't turn up. Personally it would taint my view of the company for putting you in this position.

Old bill won’t know that you’ve been furloughed, but if you get stopped on the way to work, can’t you just say you were going in to pick up xxx. If you get stopped on the way home then say I had to go to work and pick up my xxx. Just make sure whatever you say for xxx its in your rucksack and is something important like inhaler or other medication.

Is it possible to get an email or letter from company saying they expect you to attend work on x day.
I know some who have to go in to a place of work have been stopped and asked to produce evidence of work commitments. (They have all been given letters from ceo)
Given they furlough you I'm sure they reluctant to go into print but you could ask for it anyway saying your local police have been requesting it from people driving ?

Could go in to do essential repairs or things that won’t make the company money directly. Eg. Maintenance, filing, etc etc.

Put up a big hook to hang the leathers on! They were hung up on the other side of the garage but need to move them out of R1 territory!!

May have to pop down to the outlaws on the coast. FIL had to make a payment for a new kitchen and couldn't do it over the phone so I used my credit card. He went to Building Society yesterday to transfer the money to me and they would only let him do £1k as he had never made a payment to me before, and so he ending up getting either a cheque or a banker's draft.

Not sure it fits the normal essential tasks list, but he is stressed about me facing interest charges and he has enough on his plate already as the MIL has quite severe Alzheimers, and so I may just pop over on the bike.

    @PauloHRC
    Are those leathers new?
On the back of someone's suggestion a few days ago I spent an hour or so cleaning mine yesterday and they dont look anything like as clean as those you've pictured!
Have now also washed my boots and helmets too.
Put my reading specs on for the old shoei and the dead things squished into the vents and joins etc was disgusting.
I was very NEARLY ashamed of it.
    All cleannow though :)

@Paul Longstaff yes brand spankers, only tried them on a couple of times. Really didn't need them, my old black Ixons had loads of life left in them and fitted better. I had just bought some leather cleaner/polish to bring them up nice but you know what it's like when you get an idea in your head! Plus they were a bit of a bargain. Ixon vortex 2 originally £699 and paid £350. The voices in my head made me do it also ;):D

Is this a wind up where you then laugh at me for falling for it? Sounds like a dangerous idea to me. I'd be worried about it ruining any glues etc. I'd stick to manufacturers guidelines only.

When I've got time off I end up buying random shit. Today a Hozelock kit to replace all plastic connectors turned up, I'd randomly ordered that while sitting in the back garden last week and forgotten about it. Oh and a phone case.

Today's excitement was a 128gb MicroSD card, Craghopper trousers to replace the one's I now have bathroom sealant on, 172 piece ratchet set and a wireless Pixel Stand to charge my phone. It just sort of all organically happened and ended up in my Amazon shopping basket. I did stop myself from buying some recommended Chinese video doorbell. It was close though. o_O;)

B&Q do click and collect at the moment. I don’t do retail paint, stains or varnish so wouldn’t let the wife order any fence paint:)

Heres a little tip for helmet bugs. Microfiber cloth soaked in hot water then lightly squeezed out so its not leaking all over. Lay it over the bug splattered area and leave for a while. Softens them right up so when you come to wipe them away there are less scratches made.
