I think I might legitimately be turning into Nigel, just need the pension pot now and I can amass my own collection of beauties (and no, I’m not talking about ex wives! :))

Got my eye back in and started decimating the rabbit population that are brave/stupid enough to come on my land rather than stay in the fields.

Always fun trying to get the bedroom window unlatched and opened wide enough to be able to get a clear shot. Now just to improve that enough to allow me to start reducing the Corvids that are daft enough to come and try robbing the song birds nests. Am sure Chris Packham won't be happy but f**k him as the General License is back in effect.

A while now I've been doing up the house we rent out... yes I'm a landlord.... basically a poor one took us 18 months to get the tenant evicted, non payment of rent etc, A woman and her two kids as well as her mother, and they trashed the place. We did get some universal credit.
Even had to supply a new fridge 3 weeks before they got evited ffs, Landlords ha

Took 6 transit loads of rubbish, that was from just inside, basically stripped the whole house, and taken to the council dump not fly tipped(just before lockdown). Completely cleaned, repainted, repaired all damage they had been playing snooker with a broomstick on the bedroom walls, bogies everywhere on the walls, doors hanging off, smashed the double glazing interior glass, all window frames and sills fag burns they even tried to set fire to the rear bedroom window, smashed roof tiles, downstairs toilet black with mould due to the smashed roof tiles, New bathroom suite.

So all inside pretty much refurbed. Last 6 days set on the front driveway and rear garden and garage, 10 x 3 ton trailer loads of greenwaste and rubbish to be set on fire on the farm.

We used a Letting Agent and still had to pay them there fee while all this was going on, ..We will see them in court.

So now its all pretty much ready to be let again, we have a residential home next door to the property, they want to rent it for their staff to live there.

Wtf is wrong with people! Glad you got them out in the end, I’m sure the jobsworth letting agents were most helpful while still getting their fee. Onwards and upwards for the next (hopefully good) tenants

You have my sympathies, we rent out the annex, just a one bedroom affair. First people we rented to were some "friends" of the wife. The left without paying the rent, damaged the bedroom floor so bad it needed replacing, cut the feed to the cooker right at the wall, and had ripped out the fitted kitchen and replaced it with self made mdf crap.

Took us £15k to completely refurb and rewire. Luckily next person we rented to was the compete opposite, he stayed there for about 4 years, was so good we never even considered raising the rent. Last tenants only did just after 6 months, but current ones seem to be settling in nicely and hopefully will be there a while.

Hope you manage to get a decent tenant sorted.

I can trump all your landlord woes.
I bought a property , sent the builders in and done full refurb. New heating system, new kitchen, new bathroom , new plaster on walls and ceilings etc.
Then all done and guess what?
Wife suggests my 19 year old daughter move in
She lived there nearly seven years and jack sh@t in rent received.
When she moved out she had treated the place like a 19 year old would so everything needed redecorated again !
It cost me nowt but money :(

I 100% agree, it was absolutely her mothers fault.
Most have cost me close to £40k in lost tent etc

    Jeez, sorry to hear!

I had the opportunity a few years back to sell my flat and get a house or keep the flat and get a Buy To Let property - weighed it up and I decided on getting a nice house with garage, garden etc. Glad I did now as I'd probably lose my shit if I had to go through what you did!

I had a 1 bed cottage I bought in 1999, rented it out until I sold it in 2018 had some arseholes in that, worse one I signed off the contact on property a week early refunded their deposit, I was off on me hols the following week, they were decorating when I went round in the kitchen. Told then to post keys through the letterbox when they have done. On return went to get keys, the bastards downed tools soon as I left and stole all the furniture, Police didn't want to know as I signed contract property was acceptable...

But then had years off good tenant and sold for 200% profit on purchase price which I've now spent on toys :oops:
