Mate looking back at it it wasnt big or clever. I couldnt walk properly for at least 12 weeks after that highside lmao
Half an arse check off and best way to explain is drop shoulder a bit like shoulder barging someone and head where mirror is , although maybe not listen to me as tried kd on blade other day on blade but couldnt do it and near edge of tyre so calle dit a day. Feel crap on bike as first proper 1000 and all mates keep takingnpiss I cant wheelie
Yeah I hear you about the half arse cheek I was told I need to keep half my chest on the tank either the left half or the right depending which way your going but when I do that felt so uncomfortable I started going slower so just gave up on any racetrack hero pretensions and left it for those with more skills than myself
Such a shame that, the bike is plenty far over enough! Looks to me like even though your head is in a good position and pointing into the corner your upper body looks to be pointing straight/away from the corner. Perhaps you were sitting too close to the tank to allow your body to open into the corner?
That's exactly how I used to ride, balls too close to tank with hip pointing in the wrong direction. Note my ABS failed a few laps after on the long Bedford Autodrome Strait? LOL 160mph with no brakes, them leathers got incinerated the next day!
Might be why I couldnt do it other day. Maybe I'm sitting too close to tank on blade. Also people have different styles like corser always slightly looked crossed up. Others site.more upright abit like rea then theres new school way marquez where its head down shoulder and arm etc
I do tuck my tackle up against the tank its the only action I get these days! Seriously though I also have a really bad habit of supporting my weight on the inside foot rather than weighting up the outside peg. In that pic the knee that should be touching down is tended to be pushed up against the frame and tank as I support my weight with that leg when really I should be weighting the other / outer peg. I'm just not a naturally gifted technical rider I just try to go as fast I dare and hang on while hoping for the best
Yeah its interesting comparing the likes of MM with the ole skool of Mamola, Rogers etc. Always thought it might be helpful to have a flatter gripper seat, being a bit shorter than an average child, the OEM seat naturally increases the magnetic effect between the tank and my crotch
I wish someone told me that when I started riding sports bikes. Outer shoulder barge the inside mirror, sets the upper body loosens the hips in the right direction.
I did a trackday with a mate who couldnt do it so that was easiest way I could explain it to him. Next session he was dragging knee everywhere lol. It's funny how there isnt a set way to ride but loads of different variants. Some work for some people and not formothers
