I know i would rather buy a 31k bike than a bike with 1000 miles on it. Call me weird if you like. The bike with 1k on the clock probably still has the original oil in it from the first service. Oil degrades over time as well as distance. My bike i bought last year, Fair enough it only had 5k on the clock but it had evidence of an oil change every year. even though for 3 years it done a grand total of 30 miles.
one of the quickest blades i've owned was an 05 with 18,000 miles on it when i bought it, that engine was so quick to spin up on demand
Even so the engines not done any work for the slightly degraded oil to stuggle with lubrication etc. I've heard people say about acids forming in dirty oil, but a bike thats only done 30 miles!
Yes thats why services are every 4k or every year which ever comes first. My mates 07 has had 5 services and its only don 1800 miles
That Blade looks good, but i think the original poster has made the right decision.... 31k.... an 8 year old bike, cracked fairing and questionable service history... not a chance !
whats high milage I have a 2004 blade i got it in 2006 with about 5k on it, it's now got just under 60k i do give or take a few about 10k a year ok it's not worth much now but hay it's for riding planed trips for this year are the tt Le Mans moto gp and Assen WSBK. Oh yes I service it my self.
