Hi, I think the hepco plate is a good option, plus I have a tail bag that I had fitted to my 2016 CBR. I assume with the hepco theres points on the rack to fit straps etc.
With the Hepco, you will also need a plate to fit on top which has mounting points, e.g. :- https://www.hepco-shop.de/universal-gepaeckbrueckenverbreiterung-schwarz.html (smaller ones are available)
Yes expensive! Lack of luggage options is one of the things putting me off the 2017 Blade (TT Trips etc).
I have got a top plate you can have for £40. I had this setup for my 2015 Blade - traded the Blade in and have still got this setup doing nothing. Not sure the bottom plate would fit, but the top one has lots of options for mounting - probably made to fit all of them. Let me know what you think and I can post some pictures if you want.
My hepco doesn't need the additional top plate for my 2012 blade. The rack is slotted at the edges for the Kriega straps
It doesn't look like the 2017 one has slots at the edges https://www.hepco-shop.de/meinbike/honda/cbr-1000-rr-fireblade-sp-sp-2-2017/sportrack-schwarz.html I'd be interested to know from anyone who has bought / seen one.
Quote that web page The all-round fastening options for luggage straps provide a secure hold for all conceivable items of luggage. What all round fastening options??? They appear to have done away with the convenient slots in an endeavour to get you to have to fork out another £70 on another piece of metal that shouldn't really be needed. Yet another money making scam. Why have the customer buy one piece of metal when you can scam them to by two? Or even better get them to buy one of our quick release luggage systems. If you know someone with a milling machine (as if) I suppose they could mill the slots for you. Hepco baker you are cheeky bastards. Here's a pic of my hepco.
Just picked up one if the Hepco Becker racks for the current SP1. It does have slots. It us very heavy but looks like my Oxford tailpack will mount easily enough.
