although a set of inters would work, and allow you to do a bit of a shakedown, but you still wouldn't be any where near those BSB times you'll be doing,so gotta ask, whats the point
Big girl Oh and you were happy to book Oulton last year on the 7th of Feb when they forecast temps of only 1c, turned out to be warmer but wet..
So you reckon a K1 front and K2 rear would be ok, theres no way i'd push it, just cruise round checking everything works and as you say, bit of a shakedown??
Even worse mate, as you won't get the heat in them and could cause you bother. Personally I'd go road tyres and take it easy.... But I'm no expert and certainly not on sub zero tyre options. Lol
Nah, just 10 Barney! I have no problem losing £50 if so required! Shall get me monies worth just watching the carnage though!
We did it last year with no problems, no reason why we can't do it again! The only ones losing out will be the n'ere dooers who make excuses unless the sun's out!
as jimbo says,if it's near frezzing temps your tyres wont work and you wont be able to feel fuck all, you'll ride so tensed up you'll end up doing something silly. if it was me and I really wanted to ride,i'd either stick some knackered wets on,or even better a set of inters.this is just me though, sopme people might be fine on them, and ride no probs. saying that,at Almeria,Tito rabat rides there every morning from about 8.30 till 9.30,and it's bloody cold then, hovering around freezing, and he still fly's round, but is pushing the tyres to keep heat in them I guess.
Some very interesting thoughts and advice, should have left my road tyres on because i really can't be bothered changing them now only to change straight back. Temps will just be above freezing so will hope for slightly warmer weather in a couple of weeks. I might have the same number as Tito but a tad less talent at the moment..
I have inters and think they're brilliant! They'd be great at this time of year as the track dries so slowly but in Summer it's a bit of a pain as they only do you a session then you need to change again as the track dries. Think I need a fourth set of wheels for normal road tyre's!
I'd choose inters over road tyres as I've used both. Inters use the same compound as full wets but with a different tread pattern. Even if it turns fully dry I've made the rest of the day out on them and they wear really well!
