have to say though from having 2 fairly long slides on each side of the bike, they did a very good job, stick out far enough to save major fairing/frame damage, but not so much they stick into the grass or gravel.would definatley recommend them.
Well bikes in many many bits at the moment. Attempted to fit the QAT but failed miserably so will let MSS see what they can do with it.. This arrived today and has been half fitted, just need a special allen key to finish off... Some pics of the bike partly stripped.. Also notice that when fitting the Renthal clipons the brake cylinder hits the dash on full lock
OK Renthals now fit, i was trying to fit them blind folded, stood on one leg with one arm tied behind my back Next job is to finish the SS install, quick test and then strip the bike ready to be transported to MSS Kawasaki...
Not being mechanically skilled to work it out ,once the project is complete ,what level of power / electronics/ would it compare to ( Super sport 600) ---TT spec 1000--- Shakey Byrnes bike ?
There you go mate, this is with the steering lock on. Just finished fitting the SS quick shifter so if we get a dry spell tomorrow i will take it for a test but whet hers not looking good..... This is on full lock...
Yeah, can't argue to much with that lol... This is why its going to MSS Kawasaki next week, they will fit the QAT, race fairings to comply with ACU rules, a new steering lock thingy to stop the bike hitting full lock, rain light and removal of some switch gear to be relocated Oh and brake guard...
no doubt they will relocate the reg/rectifier aswell. lock stops are a good thing, especially when the front end gets a bit of a slapper on,only prob you get is they dont have much of a turning circle, hence why i always get in the top bit of the garage as i cant reverse my bike in....
Coming on nicely matt.. Defo worth fitting a fairing stay to restrict the lock.. They are awkward to push about but better than a tank slapper from hell
Thanks Daz.. So i just took it out to test the new Quickshifter and it works very well indeed although it was a short blast and traffic at this time is horrid. What i did notice was the vibrations through the handle bars. Now I'm guessing its due to the Renthals having little in the way of weighted bar ends, so is this normal and something you just accept? Its not overly bad but just wanted to know if its normal???
