The little and large show really happy for Conor as after his major crash at the IOM and his hard work to get back to fitness lets hope he does well as he comes across as one of the lads unlike MD.
I don't think anyone really is... someone with that much speed will find a bike to ride for 2014, even if it's only at the IOMTT
he's playing the waiting game to see who offers him the best bike. someone was joking with Ryan to offer him a KMR bike lol
I am a massive fan of MD .Any one who has that much skill and bottle are very gifted .Like Foggy ..Doohan ..Hislop ..Joey..ect they are winners and these type are only happy if they are winning on the best machinery and the " Nice bloke" comes well down the list .Others like Rossi ..Mcguinness ..Shakey find it easy to combine the two and as such perhaps gain more fans but if everyone had the same head and skill ,it would become very " boring " wouldn't it?
Weren't most of this years tt wins on his own md racing prepped Hondas and just the super bike one was the legends bike? He seems better off fettling his own ride anyway, plus he can have a row with his mechanic whenever he wants, on his own in the caravan.
indeed it was on his own bike but he still huffed when honda refused to roll over and give into his demands.what did put me off him to start was when he punted a friend of mine into a field and then done the same thing to camron. that and the lousy attitude he took with the 450 riders at the nw200 one year trying his best to get them banned, havent the time for him or sealy lol
I love watching MD racing, his all out riding, win it or bin it attitude makes me really warm to him !! Bit like a certain MM ( rookie ) in Motogp I do think MD has alot to say but so he shud, his the one risking his life at 200 mph so Honda can continue their domination of the TT. I really do hope he gets a great bike underneath him so he can take on the bigger teams n carry on the ( Jinxed imho ) Dunlop name into the future with many more wins at the TT n Northwest 200
well too many dirty moves on the road's for my liking.moves that should be reserved for tracks not roads.he put at least three people down an embankment at the nw200 and also passed under a yellow flag (and got away with it and the win) also near punted william dunlop into a church wall there is a thread on the real road racing forum about 12 pages deep of peoples reactions to him at the nw200 lol
That's a shame and a bit rum as well .I know Irish road racing is a full on situation but at this level one would imagine that a bit more professional attitude would be the norm .You are a lot closer to the scene than us so would pick up a lot easier on what's going on .I still consider Sealy as a top rider but have to say they may need to wind there necks in a touch before a racing mate gets killed.
Problem with Seeley is that he only does the NW200 which alot won't consider a die hard road race. Its practically a short circuit as its just straight and fast with a bunch of chicances etc. Not many jumps, bumps or balls out corners anymore. So when he weigh's in and is all "Im a road racer" it doesnt get him much respect, especially not when you do a block pass on WD and come into the paddock saying "Well rubbins racing and thats why im supersport champ- ha ha!" .... doesnt get much fan favour! Then hes off for a banana and a back massage versus the rest of the paddock who are a bit macho for all that malarky. Doesnt really fit the mould if you will
lol yeah, I know instead of the wee wizard they were calling him the wee w@nker in the paddock. they would have had the burning pitch forks out if he wasnt local. that is his famous line, he got a ten second penalty for this move asked about it he said “Unfortunately he went down but rubbing’s racing and everyone knows that,”
There is some shore posted about Dunlop. Simple fact is he got beat fair & square in the senior, and let's remember before you all get Hokey Cokey, he is still, on lap times in the senior, only 6th fastest round the island. Not only did he have to use Johns set up to get the bike to work but both bikes were dyno'd immediately after the senior, within 1bhp of each other, anyone thinking honda had an agenda were clearly mistaken, Honda WANTED MD to win, another 5 in a week, pure PR gold. As for his 2014 talks, it's said that he asked for considerably more than John, with no PR strings attached and the ability to run other manufacturers bikes in other classes. You don't play hardball with stupid requests like that with Neil Tuxworth and win. And having shared a paddock with him a couple of times and being around the roads, I can second the opinion he is an arrogant git! That said there are problems in the Dunlop family home so that could be affecting him!
im glad someone else knows what he is really like, but the die hard fans wont have you saying anything bad about him lol.
Good info Craig and interesting stuff. I have to be honest, I do not particularly care much about a riders personality/attitude (as long as they are not dangerous to other riders) I am more interested watching them ride. Politics aside , I hope MD will be riding, he is a gutsy exciting rider who really pushes to the limit IMO. I will enjoy the racing anyway, with or without him. Never have been one to be too interested in the interviews of riders, just love to watch the actual racing. There is something special about road racing. I have no regrets that I never tried track racing (although I enjoy watching it) but really regret never trying road racing. Still, I get to ride on the road with all the poor surfaces, pedestrians, cyclists, junctions, oncoming traffic and mainly just one narrow lane to keep my wheels on and can pretend I am well out in front on the IOM TT.
